Your points are valid @DuFussMcGoo, but I was referring to the manner in which you forfeit, not the reasoning behind it.
@happynappy2, the correct way to forfeit is to click the 3 dots top left (near where your wind and hole info is displayed). This will open a menu and there should be a "Withdraw" option near the bottom (it might say Forfeit, End Round, or some other wording, I can't recall off the top of my head). By selecting this the opponent SHOULD get a message stating your Forfeit and USUALLY allows them to continue on playing the remaining holes (mainly important during Showdowns).
On the other hand, if you get upset that you're losing or having a bad day and just rage quit by closing the app, it will force opponent to sit there waiting on your timer to expire, then getting a Reconnect popup, and often results in the game being abandoned. In this case both parties lose entry fees and winner doesn't get credit for the win for apparel sponsor box or coin wins. And in Showdowns it can cause the "Showdown Bogie Glitch" of bogies for all unplayed holes, a cruel punishment for the person who was winning and did nothing wrong.
