    OmegaManKFH:

I too use the Tour-S balls. And that 25 credits is almost a new sleeve. 400 credits for balls? Absurd.

Amen to that. Seriously, folks--I just bought a 60 degree wedge that was cheaper than the Nike balls. And let's consider what I got for my money: a durable club that will last me a lot longer than a sleeve of balls does. I'll have that club until I hit Legend (which given my current quality of game play should be quite some time in the distant future). The rate of return on my investment is significantly greater on the club. Not to mention which--the chances of me appeasing the St. Andrews water gods with the wedge are slim to none.

Personally, I don't want birdies and eagles handed to me on a silver platter. I derive a great deal of pleasure from making the correct strategic choices and getting those shots. I just made my 5th eagle yesterday and it was a thrill to say the least (doing it out of 60% fescue made it even sweeter!). What's the point of playing if I were to upgrade my equipment to the point where eagles are as common as birdies, and birdies as common as pars?

I'll stick to my Tour-S balls, thank you very much, and save my credits for smart investments in club upgrades.

Good thinking, SB. Have a look at the SD version. I used those for a very long time until I got sucked into the Callaway hole. Not complaining either but if I wasn't playing these I'd have the SDs again.  ;-)

So I was gifted a sleeve of these new Nike balls and had a go with them.  I like them as they gave me a bit more to work with on the approach shots.  That being said, I will not purchase them for the fact that the cost is to high.  In fact, I will not buy Callaways anymore either.  I have been using the old school Tour SD's today and have the ability to stop a ball and fly almost as far.  I am willing to sacrifice 5-10 yards on a drive to save 20000 credits a year.

Makes one wonder what ball WGT will offer once all the available DOTS for specs have run out, not many left now.

If you can compete at the highest level you'll probably need these balls.  I suspect those that do, will not have any trouble finding the credits to pay for them.  But for the 99 percent that have never made this commitment and don't have the time or the talent, the day we started buying balls, thinking that might make us a better player, was the beginning of the long long road to a place called frustration.

New nike balls are awesome, you can clear the brush on r.s.g #5 with only 14 mph tailwind, stop ball within 2 yards on the par #3,3rd with 21 mph tailwind.  The slower meter alone is worth an extra $1.  what else have we to spend our credits on?

Callaways used to be pretty awesome too.

Now they seem to play poorly. The Tour Burners were a great club and now seem average.

Calls+ TBs used to be a fab combination. Now they are MEH.

On some shots today my meter seems to be flying. Funny that. All the experience I have tells me when I have gone asleep at the ding. Now it flies past.

    Coincidence. I don't think so.

Very well said Mr. Hopper. I can't foresee the future but I think the free rentals were for folks to try clubs that had no glitches and then these same folks purchased them and the next thing you know is that new clubs will be shortcoming. Just a thought.

I also echo Yankees comment about the SD balls. I have been playing Calls for a while. I might practice with GISDs now the performance of the Calls has been tampered with.
