After purchasing a pack of new Nike balls to try them out, i sunk one in the water on #11 at Congressional and this is where you drop my ball at?

U mention just after you bought new NIKE balls you got this drop. This drop zone has been around for months & the shot you play behind the tree never hits the tree & not a big issue (plays invisible) only get this drop spot 1 out of every 10. Is it life changing (nope) , Is it a big deal (nope) is it something to get stressed over (nope) Is it something to have a hissy fit over blah blah blah (nope)  Is it something to beg for balls from WGT = laughable.

Simple way not to get that drop spot , don`t aim so close to the water ?

    A s-shot I took when I first came across it (May 18th)

R U kidding me?  It has nothing to do with the Nike Balls.. it has EVERYTHING to do with whether a player thinks they can make that shot.   I refuse to argue this... not gonna happen.  I've never HAD to play this shot before.. unlike you.  But You think I'm take a chance on wasting another ball.  it's all psychological... I'm sure.  So.. you wanna tell me how to hit THRU a TREE (if WGT is that realistic (i.e. #2 at BPB?))  Oh zip it.. you know I'm right and the only excuse anyone has is '=It's still in BETA'  like it has been for over 3 yrs.  My husband has the screenshots to prove it.  Guess that's why he works for iRacing, and did a full  product in less then 2 yrs. The only reason WGT is still is BETA is because it's a loophole...  you all dont get it?  That's their excuse.

Sorry WGT employees, but you know it's the truth.

    hi

did you happen to submit a bug report? this way we can replicate the shot and try to fix it.

    -wgticon

this is no bug report lol

this is how the game is set up lol i have seen this drop zone so many times going through tour pro to tour master

    come on bug lol

so its a bug right in front of the tree lol

This is BS and you know esssy,  I won't ask why you've been there so many times.. that just leads me to say you cant play this hole.  C'mon... Give me a better EXCUSE

Being able to play thru the tree is another bug that needs fixing. You should at least hit the tree branches and get put back in the water again.

Best bug at the moment is Legends playing from master tees in country club tournaments lmao.

I've also stopped getting the 30 second adverts??  where's it all going to end.?

To add another 2 cents to this, after putting it in the water on Kiawah 17, my drop was in the sand off the tee box... (???)

It would be nice if we could select the place to drop in line with the ball flight and the hazard - allowing us the chance to get a decent lie.

i've answered this one before here

    http://www.wgt.com/forums/t/58900.aspx

    but here it is again

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i had, what i thought was a strange drop at kiawah, see

    2nd shot

    http://www.wgt.com/gameclient.aspx?view=showReplay&JSON=%257B%2520%2522GUID%2522%2520%253A%2520%2522b536f9fd-5110-4275-880c-9f3b0098e7ce%2522%252C%2520%2522Brand%2522%2520%253A%2520%2522undefined%2522%2520%257D

    4th after penalty - in 60 - 70% rough.

    http://www.wgt.com/gameclient.aspx?view=showReplay&JSON=%257B%2520%2522GUID%2522%2520%253A%2520%252213d200c2-04bc-46e7-8061-9f3b009971c0%2522%252C%2520%2522Brand%2522%2520%253A%2520%2522undefined%2522%2520%257D

i was going to suggest to wgt a full implementation of rule 26, but a quick search of the forum show posts over 2 years ago asking for the same thing, so looks like it's the last thing on the list for them, well it requires a lot of user interaction to do it correctly.

for your shot it was not a bug. as the op should probably know, it is the committee that defines hazards on a course, not congressional, usga, r&a. the committee here is wgt.

you went into a water hazard, not a lateral water hazard. i have not yet found a lateral water hazard, therefore rule 26 1 c is never used. what is used is a "butchered" rule 26 1 b - drop behind the hazard (it doesn't matter from which side you crossed the hazard margin), on a line keeping the point at which you crossed between you and the pin.

here's the butchered bit. normally you should be allowed to go back on a line as far as you wish, but with no user interaction, the software drops at the nearest point to the hazard.

i messed around on that hole, to get a similar drop, see

    shot into hazard

    http://www.wgt.com/gameclient.aspx?view=showReplay&JSON=%257B%2520%2522GUID%2522%2520%253A%2520%2522612cc20e-ce3c-442d-b8ba-9f4200b23d77%2522%252C%2520%2522Brand%2522%2520%253A%2520%2522undefined%2522%2520%257D

drop place, other side of hazard

    http://www.wgt.com/gameclient.aspx?view=showReplay&JSON=%257B%2520%2522GUID%2522%2520%253A%2520%25226c42f53f-f5a8-4ab1-b0aa-9f4200b2d456%2522%252C%2520%2522Brand%2522%2520%253A%2520%2522undefined%2522%2520%257D

sometimes the software chooses to use rule 26 1 a - drop at the nearest point from where the original shot was played.

i don't know what order, if any, the software uses, and unless wgt reply then we won't know, not that it really matters, as with above, if there is no user interaction we don't get a choice.

so it's a case of just suck on it til wgt try to implement user interaction.

Thanks for the response Oily.  I don't like it but as we say here (all too often) - "oh well".  C
