FWIW, leave RG's the same as they are, it's MPC that drives me crazy, get's under my skin, etc, from hitting to a 515 y par 4 and my opponent hitting from 430 yard, with the same clubs, guess I deal with it better in a RG than in MP.

And I know you are smart enough to realize that, although the advantage isn't staring you in the face in an RG like in an MPC, it's the same advantage over you.  They just have to hope it's good enough to overcome others as well in an RG.  And think about this:  In an RG, they could get significantly better wind than you do, in addition to the tee difference.  At least in an MPC, you have the same wind.

Oh, I agree, but for me personally (playing alone), it's just me and the course/conditions, when doing MP, it works on my mind a bit when I am out driven 50-60 yards and can see it happen;)

without changing anything in "their current level/tier system" make all credit games play from the same tees... sandbag all u want but when u go to play for some $ it'll be game on ...... only way to  address the issue....

A couple of months ago I did some working out.  I know WGT is a business and they have to make money, but have you considered this.  I know the high stakes RG's seemed to have quietened down, but let's assume there is one 2k RG per day.  There's 100,000cr in the pot of which WGT take 20,000. The remainder are simply being passed around the same players.  Assume three 1k RG's per day from which WGT take 30,000cr, 50k cr so far.  Say 5x500 RG's, WGT's rake 25k.  Total so far 75k credits that are taken out of circulation each day.  Then there are, say, 25 regular 100cr RG's which bring in a rake of 25k.  That's 100k cr total.  As I said, the RG's seemed to have quietened down now, but maybe one can now understand why.  100k credits is $1000 worth.  Add in the credits taken in rake from MPC and skins games, and all the balls and clubs being bought each day, and this can easily amount to a few thousand dollars worth of credits taken out of circulation each day.  These 'spent' credits must be replenished somehow!!

You nailed it.  You can definitely see a decline in participation in the 1k and 2k RGs, 500s to a lesser extent.   When they first started a 2k was going off every 24-36 hours.  Now just a couple months later you're looking at one ever 3-4 days on average.   Fast forward a few more months and we may be lucky to fill one a week.   Also keep in mind that the top players are also taking a ton of credits out of circulation and getting pennies on the dollar in return from the elite collection, so you can basically chalk that up to rake also.  I have profited over 300,000 credits from RGs since the 500+ credit  RGs were introduced in Oct., and I'm sure a number of others are well into the 6 figures also.

Seems to me 15% on the 500s and 10% on the 1k+ RGs would be much more fair.  Obviously WGT does acknowledge the principle of charging less rake as stakes are increased as evidenced by the rake system in place on skins games.

And Rosey you are right that they need to figure out a way to incorporate tier advancement based upon all games that involve earning credits.

The FBI closed Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars, and they took far less of a rake than WGT

I wish that WGT would allow some of us honest players to have Avatars that pack heat. It would really be great if I could whip an AK-47 out of my golf bag and execute the cheater's Avatar.

Reading this thread has been very interesting.  I accept that there are people who play this game who "game" the system in order to gain an advantage, and although I do not like it, since I do not see it changing, I have come up with a very simple solution:

I only play M-P credits games with a very select group of people who I know and trust. As for tourneys, excluding a couple of the WGT free tourneys and my CC tourneys, I, as a general rule, play only tier-specific tourneys (Legend in my case).  By doing this, while I may not win the game (or tourney, as the case may be), I ensure that I am not being cheated by someone who just wants to make a quick buck.

With regards to those who made the suggestion that WGT make the clubs tier-specific, i.e, if you have the top level clubs, you play off the top level tees, I think this is a great idea. It works for the PGA, where every player in a tourney hits off the same tees, it would certainly work here.  That's my 2 cents.

Affirmative Marks. WGT will never do anything to stop people from spending money on this website. No matter how unscrupulous a players conduct becomes for gaining credits. Sure, WGT will close their account, but they have no plans to do away with sandbagging either.

These sandbagging people are spending more money on equipment and golf balls and in most cases are only trying to win meaningless credits from an uninformed player that will only subsidize a sandbaggers ego in the end. Stupidity at it's best, but great for WGT.

WGT created this current tiers and levels system and their not about to admit defeat and change the way they run it. Changing the system now just to keep people from sandbagging in a MPC would wreak havoc on the game and quite frankly, there's no other direction for WGT to go at this point just for that one reason.

Its simple, players should do their homework and not get taken by players who have the best equipment from the shortest tees. This was all said when WGT introduced the tiers and levels system and WGT chose the option to not do anything about it at that time.

Watch out for the guy or gal at your local golf course who has the best clubs and says they just bought these clubs last week, and are looking for a game. wink wink/nudge nudge.

Maybe WGT is looking at the sandbagging as a realistic part of this game, like real golf.
