Also, I feel even when other tiered players have advantages of 100 yards or more on some holes, If I hit my shots like I'm capable of, then I have no need to worry, because the other player(s) are bound to make a mistake at some point.

That was a well thought out post.  I still believe the OP makes a good point about Hidden Legends.  Lets just say, for the sake of argument, that we don't need to protect Legends since they'll always have an advantage because of playing ability.  That be the case, lets turn our concern to lower tiers where Master, Tour Pro and Pros play one another under the same conditions.  How can that be fair when Hidden Legends are lurking amongst them.  I'm talking about guys that have the very best equipment this game has to offer, yet they play from the same tees.  And for those that don't remember what it was like here before the BIG CHANGE in Sept 2010...at least then we had to earn our equipment with playing ability and tier advancement.  To be honest, if I could change one thing about what happened then, I would continue the process where we earn tier advancement to obtain better equipment.  While it's true the genie is out of the bottle, going back to that system might be the best way to fix this for the future of the game.

September 2010 ... i went to bed a Master with a 68.9 "average" .. and woke up a legend with the same average ... and a much harder game to play.

Since then ... I've worked my "average" down .. mostly because WGT is offering a lot of games from the forward tees which lower your "average".    I'm not good enough to play Ready Go's and compete against the very good players ... I can just about compete in Match Play.   While it looks like I have a lot in earnings .. remember that is Gross earnings .. not Net .. and the large majority of it was earned early 2010 playing RG's from the white tees.

Now a days - I play a about 2 RG's (try to stay to 18 hole games - maybe a 9 hole game occasionally) and I don't even break even.   Perhaps I play 1 or 2 matches a day .. and I lose more than I win (how can you win with the same equipment giving away hundreds of yards)     I try to do surveys and take the free offers but there just are not enough.  I have about 1,800 in credits but will be throwing another $100 into the game soon so I can by balls (Callaway non-legend not Nike's).    I'm lucky enough to be able to afford it.

The reason give you this background is ... I think this is where Rosey and Tater and a lot of the other legends are also.   What was once a nice game to play --- has dwindled to a game or 2 or 3 / day --- unless your extremely good or are gaming the system.

I can think of only 1 thing to fix this - and it's the same thing a lot of others have already said.

Please do another September 2010 .... reset the tiers for everyone and take into account the hundreds of match play games and alt shot games being played.    This game is about repetition.  The more games you play - the higher your level - the better you get - the better equipment you can get - etc. etc..    So I think WGT should count Match and Alt Shot games.  Make those games part of your advancement formula .   "Reward" (with advancement) not only the players who do Ranked Rounds ... "Reward" everyone who plays the game.     If you found a way to reset everyone in Sept of 2010 .. just do it again.

    Happy Holidays to everyone.

    agree 100%

the game is great if you happen to find a good match - every improvement leading to being able to find a good match or encurage people to play again more would be great.

thats the prob Ad not many legends playing the skins or mpc's anymore due to all the sharks swimming.. i dont have 1 hr or longer to hope another legend player will be along... like i said earlier in this thread... make all the credit games be played from the same tees.... whoever created the game, those would be the tees u use or use the highest tiered persons tees like they do with the greenspeeds........ only way to make it to where sandbaggin does nothin 4 them...

    Im a hidden legend beware

    Stroke Play Score Average 61.72
    Best 9-Hole Round 29
    Best 18-Hole Round 59
    Total Ranked Rounds Played 519

funny thing is i cant shoot -5 or more on 9 holes to get my score down to reach legend so i suppose im avoiding legend hmmmm only a game.

Yes you say this with sarcasm but you are not playing as a pro, or tour pro as alot of people do, giving them a decided advantage off the tees.I do not play much for money so have stayed out of most of these discussion but fully understand the frustration of others.  ZELG

What is perplexing and humorous at the same time is the fact that this game has incredibly ENORMOUS potential and could produce an explosion of additional revenue for WGT if they would just address a couple of minor issues. Instead, they put bandaids on the revenue machine by introducing $4.50 sleeves of balls. In some respects, it's a classic case of the 'brains' not listening to the 'peons.'

Seriously, WGT, do you realize how dramatically you could you increase dollar paying participation if 1.) you tweaked the game so that it appealled to a dozen different types of players rather than the small handful it does now...and 2.) you made some very minor changes to level the playing field (ie. accurate handicapping and/or restrictions on who can play with what equipment).

Here's just a simple example using my own status. I reached Legend very recently.  I can play a pretty decent game but I am NOWHERE NEAR as good as many of the Legends and TM's that could stomp me into the ground on any given day. While it would be great to play at that level, the time, effort, and money to get there is something that I do not aspire to nor do I have the time. I was looking at the profile of another Legend this morning and this guy hardly ever posts a score over 28....and he plays a LOT. I cannot even imagine what it took to achieve that because the Legend game is rather difficult when compared to tiers below it.

For all intents and purposes, the only revenue you will be getting from me is for balls and the very infrequent equipment purchase. I'm not going to play in RG's...it would be a losing proposition right from the get-go.  I'm not going to play in 'skins' because of the sandbagging issue and some of the bugs I keep reading about. It's highly doubtful I will make any additional equipment purchases because the additional advantage gained would be minimal at best. I'm not saying that money is no object for me, but I definitely would be depositing more and spending more if there was some incentive (other than the 'fun' factor) to do so. There just isn't, though. So, here you have a guy willing to spend more but with virtually no incentive to do so.

This game has AMAZING, almost boundless, potential. Hope WGT is listening to what many players are saying and giving some serious thought to making the desired changes.

I wouldn't put you in that category.  You have quit a few rated rounds, you have a pretty low scoring average, and you're only a few 30's away from Legend status.

I played in a game of Alt Shot this afternoon. The other team was composed of 2 alleged Tour Pros. One of them was a level 92 and the other had a 67.3 average. Both were clubbed to the teeth. The 67.3 average had played a total of 2 ranked rounds in the last 6 months. My partner, also a Tour Pro, had an average in the 70s and played with starter clubs. I am a Tour Master with a 61.3 average and will soon attain the Legend Tier. I try my best at all times.

When my partner missed a short putt the 67.3 average began insulting him.  This annoyed me so, like a fool, I asked Mr. 67.3 why he had quit playing ranked rounds. He went on and on about how "smart" he was avoiding the Master tees. I advised him that what he was doing is called sandbagging and that this constituted cheating.

This led to a string of profanities on his part including, but not limited to, referring to me as a "B" word several times. AMAZING! The guy admits to sandbagging (actually bragging about it) and becomes furious with me for pointing out that sandbagging is cheating.

I wish that WGT would allow some of us honest players to have Avatars that pack heat. It would really be great if I could whip an AK-47 out of my golf bag and execute the cheater's Avatar.
