I am sorry the wording in my last post was not acceptable and for that I apolgise but not for the sentiment behind it.

I thought your wording was exceptional! Honest, well thought out, straight to the point with no punches pulled. I know you cannot do it yet, but the way things are headed here in the US, a green card will be good enough for a person to run for presidency. You sir have already got 1 vote here waiting on you!

What part of my Manifesto swung it my way? LMFAO

Was it the free beer for golfers? Was it total immunity from the Law for golfers? Or was it the part about peeling cheats and sandbaggers with a rusty knife that did it?

this is a long thread so what i say may have been mentioned.WGT say they have a ploicy to deter sandbaggers, surely all they have to do is make the policy say 1 of every 3 rounds must be a ranked round. if the ranked rounds are substantially different to the other rounds they play....1  warn them...2sd time ,move them up a tier. i know we would end up with some rubbish undeserving legends, but better that than having these people cheating the honest players.

    rant over

When you have to make tiers to get equipment you get quitting cherry-pickers. Does anyone remember them? We had loads of them before the new supposedly improved system was put into place.

There was a simple solution that gets my vote. Play the best equipment? Then you will play from the same tees as everyone. You cannot compete for any betting skill games until you have purchased upper tier equipment. Want to make the scoring come up a little in the Legend tiers. How about having your ball lie dictate the shape and height of each shot and introduce a realistic way to shape shots.

By far the fairest system would be one that involves players reaching a certain tier before clubs get unlocked, but I think there is more chance of Robert Mugabe & China jointly winning the Nobel Peace Prize for Humanitarian Effort, than us seeing the fairest tier based system being introduced.

    TBE

I tend to agree, except that that requires players to play ranked rounds, which I don't agree with making people do things they don't want in order to progress.  I think the true fairest system would be a new formula that takes all different forms of play into consideration.  MPCs, Alt-Shot, Blitz, Ranked rounds, Skins, CTTH, Winnings, in determining tiers...

    Or...

Just do what I have said constantly and make the tee boxes uniform for any competition where the same credits are up for grabs to different tiers, be it MPCs, RGs, Free Weeklies, etc.  If I'm competing with another tier for fun, sure... give them their tee box.  But if I am competing against another player for credits (or gift cards, or anything else of tangible value), we should be playing from the same tees, regardless of tier.  Why WGT hasn't is beyond me, unless they think their player base will drastically shrink if everyone is on a level playing field... in which case, I'm in the wrong place.  I'd prefer to play somewhere that the proprietors care that things are fair.

    Line 'em all up...

    Ready...

    aim..

    Fire....

    Thats my solution... lol

    Hang 'em High lmao

On a serious not, I'm a tour master with the skills to make Legend, yet I don't. why? I simply won't be able to compete from the tips with the current equipment...

I know some of you will say I don't know that since I haven't tried, but I have tried...

I've played every course at least once from the tips, and I think the best I did was -2 on BPB... that's a 70...

Honestly I tiered up way too fast, and that's my fault.

(hold on I'm getting to the point)

    The system is NOT broken...

    It works fine.

Much Like the US Justice system. It works fine.

But the people are #@$%!@# up...

    can't ever change that

Base tee boxes on levels, taking equipment into consideration.

Meaning, a level 90 TP should play on the same tees as a level 90 AM, since they both have the same equipment available to them.

All for naught, don't think it will change!

FWIW, leave RG's the same as they are, it's MPC that drives me crazy, get's under my skin, etc, from hitting to a 515 y par 4 and my opponent hitting from 430 yard, with the same clubs, guess I deal with it better in a RG than in MP.

I for one wouldn't agree ..I've  progressed as far as I can and only play 2 or 3 ALT games.or maybe 1 or 2 ranked a day..that's all I want from this game and there's many like me I believe ( the heady scores are way above any skill I possess.

BTW, I have never done a survey and have spent plenty here.

    regards john

Well, I am sorry this is your situation, and I do prefer uniform tee boxes for any tournament with a credit or tangible prize of value.  But, in my opinion, they either have to institute uniform tee boxes, or they have to find a new formula that takes all forms of play into consideration to determine tiers.  The third option is to restrict equipment by tier, and the only way to make this viable is to make it retroactive.  In other words, sorry about your luck, but you can no longer use that L88 R11 Driver in your bag because you need more tiers to be eligible to use it.  And can you imagine the outcry if people were suddenly not allowed to use equipment they had purchased?  So, that won't work...

Which leaves us with three choices:

    1) Uniform tee boxes

    2) New formula

    3) The least savory of the choices.  WGT doesn't give a hoot about fairness or and just leaves it the way it is.

-2 on BPB is 68, but point taken.  I don't consider sandbagging people who tempo their tiering with their level.  I bagged shots here and there on my way up so I wouldn't out-tier my equipment.  The point is, if you are using the L88 R11 Driver and you are still a Pro or TP, even a master (much less am or hack), then you are gaming the system, or you just aren't very good and shouldn't be competing with upper tiers for credits anyway.

I admit that I do have a somewhat selfish point of view.  I don't have to worry about sand-baggers in my tier, about players of a higher tier's abilities lurking on mine.  With all due respect, Bollox lurks on mine, and others like him.  I have enough to worry about.  My aim is to ensure that a sand-bagger can't take advantage of the tier differences to make his job even easier.  I'd love WGT to find a way to eliminate sand-bagging for everyone.  Uniform tee boxes would eliminate their ability to sandbag only others of higher tiers than themselves.  In doing so, it would eliminate the ability to sand-bag me.
