mnshiner:
Better take your 2 cents back. That could happen but very unlikely. WGT tracks cookies and ISP addresses so in all reality it is very unlikely.
That is why I believe the surveys are hard to get qualified for. You have to remember exactly what you checked from one survey to another.
Thx for the earlier Hijack of my misplaced thread and thx mnshiner for getting this back on track. I'll be only to glad to take my 2 cents back, but first I have some concerns.
Now I'm not a computer expert, but i have been around the block a couple of times, but I believe Cookies are individual computer and browser based, therefore the need for 2 computers, for that matter you only need to use multiple browsers and 1 computer to get around cookies. WGT cannot tell anything based on IP address. There are completely legitimate reasons for the same IP address to access WGT with multiple accounts therefore I find it unlikely that WGT would even care to ban based on that.
Now if the IP address being recorded is the address after the router serves one, and If that's the case why bother because multiple computers is all that is required to get around that, for that matter wired and wireless on 1 computer is all that is required to get around that, and there are also easy software based solutions to that also.
Now if cookies and IP address are the only security measures, forgive me if I'm not all warm and fuzzy about the security. Kinda like the Bank vault in the middle of the street wide open with the Police on Strike.
Not a big deal anyway, obviously if i have a concern I can just avoid the skins for credits, but I would like to hear what exactly is the security measure being taken to avoid collusion or the same person, with two accounts playing in the same skins match.
I know there is allot of chatter about cheating and clickers and calculators, but 1 player playing 2 people in the skins out of 4 is a HUGE virtually unbeatable advantage by a reasonably skilled player.
Just my 2 cents.
