Well what should you do then remove the pin or not. It stopped at .02 from the hole.

Oh wow, that is soooooo mean.   Great shot, it really deserved to go in.

I've linked to it here, hope it works.

Ouch! Have had that happen more than once. It's a very disappointing feeling knowing that your first Hole-in-One wasn't meant to be. Now I pull the pin on almost all my shots, except drives where reaching is impossible.

Bollox has posted several videos to YouTube and he seems to pull the pin on just about every approach shot.  I figure it must be something worth doing then.

It never occured to me to pull it on this shot, thankfully it didn't matter   : )

Sometimes I will leave the pin in just for the sake of the video (or try to remember to).  Typically playing by myself I pull it nearly 100% of the time.  Only time I'd make a point to leave it in is if hitting the pin is the only way to stop the ball close.

It's really not 'worth doing'  it is just very frustration when you hit a miracle shot that would of dropped had it not been for the pin, or when you hit the pin and bounce into the water or w/e.

That is a beauty MainzMan on a tough hole.

I reckon I will give it a try to remove the pin when I can reach it that is.The thing is on those types of shots is I almost always forget to save the shot on replays as the Tourettes has kicked fully in by then and I always miss the click to save it, LOL.

That would have been my 6 HIO but alas not to be. I have hit the flag 327 times and was wondering what percentage of that total might have dropped if I removed the pin beforehand, maybe worth removing it after all?

I'm going to give it a month trial just to see.

To Remove the pin or not to remove the pin. (just like 2b or not 2b..lol..sorry)

It's a good debate actually... there are +'s and -'s, for doing this.

The (-) would be if you hit the pin and then the ball ends up 20 ft or more away.... or the (+) when you hit the pin and go into hole.

There is going to be times when you remove the pin, only to see the ball roll over the hole and stop way past the hole and then start thinking...if the pin was in, then it might go in.

So what I do now is just leave the pin in and don't worry about what happens... if it goes in, it's great... if not.. well, I can say it saved me from disaster, but I have hit the pin and bounce in the water too...lol.

I was going to post something along the same lines after the following happened to me...

    Flagstick

I guess there will be times when it pays to remove it and times when it pays to leave it in.
