    genorb:

    stevenharkin:

if round 4 is set up really tough ( do not know course ), i feel this will be the only chance for the chasing pack...will look on with interest :)

You are right, only a tough round could still give a chance to several players. They already had the best of hardest hole in round 1. Oakmont with high wind and championship greens could be nice. RSG with high wind is pretty hard also, but high wind on this course is not good, the score posted depends too much if you had a good wind set or not.

    We will see :).

    Regards

    You guys are both right.

In my opinion, If its easy  or moderate conditions and course, most likely all the players will be bunched up in scoring and Sam   brings home a deserved win.

A spoiler could be high winds champ greens oak or rsg  that could allow for big swings in scores.  I remember Sam shooting a 53 in high winds rsg 1k readygo,  He knows how to play high winds champ greens and all things equal is the odds on favorite to win. A bad windset at RSG highwinds  he could shoot an excellent round and still only walk away with  just a 63.  If another player in the peleton got a favorable windset. it would be  their best opportunity for another having a chance.

Btw, round 3 was bethpage from tourmaster tees in high winds and tourney greens. Just got the email, 4th round will be at Oakmont  but i don't know the conditions yet.

I just finished the 4th round at Oakmont, played well but only got 64 so I'm not going to threaten the leaders. There didn't seem to be much correlation between where I aimed and where the ball landed - high deviation / difficulty setting I suppose.

Chuffed (and pleasantly surprised) to be in the final 9 though - fingers crossed now for the next one. Hopefully I'll see you there Genorb.

Thanks wgt for putting on this tour and championship. I had great fun playing it and thought the format with course / settings mix was exemplary.

In practice , had just posted 28f 28b and thought I was ready to go.  Haha wasn't the case as in round 4, Poor execution on shots, nervous putting combined with bogey on 9 had me making the turn with 33.   On the back, had things rolling pretty good, then another bogey on 16 to finish with round of 63.  No doubt it's going to come up well short of win but overall I was happy with how I played in the tour.

Goodluck to those left to play your final round.

    Don

Let me add my congrats to Sam and the other leaders. You guys are awesome.  Was a rough tournament for me, but I think the leaders made the most of every round. Very nicely done and congrats again.

    Thanks all!

Thanks for the tourney WGT, only thing I would change would be to make the rules a little bit more clear next time, aside from that great format.
