Jessica
I haven't singled you out for preferrential treatment, as there are others that haven't followed the rules by the letter, ( I understand that it is relatively new to some, and that errors would be made) some have not published their full cards, others don't know how to etc etc. I have done all I can to attempt to assist by publishing the rules and instructional videos, step by step guides etc to try and avoid confusion.
However I am attempting to be as fair as possible in the infancy of this event to allow those to "get up to speed" with what is required and have allowed 3 or 4 scores to stand based upon their opponents card. As you say " a lesson learned by some, but I am sure the lesson wont be learned by others as the comp progresses, and will face the consequences of a DQ if failing to adhere to the requirements.
I have DQ'd one player for discontinuance of play, simply because I was communicating "live" to the players' partner at the time, and when I was asked if he could stop and continue the next day or so, I replied that the game must be played in one session unless WGT disconnects. He decided that he didn't wish to continue. Other than that, all other scores have been recorded and counted.
In conclusion. I accept that it was a misunderstanding on yours' and others' situations, and I have acted accordingly.
I know it is disappointing that you were not even trying that hard on that initial round, (as you explained) and you played much better when you thought it counted. I am sure you will make up
I hope you continue in the remaining 3 rounds (anything can happen in this format and varying conditions will produce different results) for this month. Qualifying is not a formality at this early stage. One eagle and one birdie separates you from the top !
