    DAZZA501:

And as for deviation. Yes, we definitely still get that above level 90.

So, back to my original post, the question remains, is that deviation less influential once you achieve a certain level ? Based on the observations, it would seem that may very well be true. There are many players who have achieved Legend status at levels well below 90. It is reasonable to assume that at least a handful of them would have the skills, reflexes, time, computer equipment, etc. to dominate in the same way that some of the top players here do. But, you never see it....and that would strongly suggest that Level/Tier status benefits from 'something' in the programming of the game.

Nope. Still plenty of deviations past level 90.

    MBaggese:

There is a ton of playing to be done between level 83 and level 90.

Exactly. So, why do you never see someone,  say around Level 85, really start dominating? Hard to believe that not a single gaming geek Legend at this level cannot post a 1st place score.

    MBaggese:

I took a  quick look at your score history and see you play mainly unlimited tourneys, but I'd ask how many restarts do you have to keep shooting your scores?

In the recent past, when I made the observations I noted in the OP, I started re-starting feverishly with the intent of testing what I thought was rather odd.....and, despite the number of tries (and there have been MANY), I was unable to post a score that put me in any kind of contention. Seems there is 'something' at play that allows me to post a score of 'x' but never a score that would contend with the 1st - 3rd place.

    MBaggese:

Why haven't you played or posted single tourney's? (not trying to start something, just asking....see below)

I've posted 'single play' scores....not as many as 'unlimited' but I have posted a few.

There are countless TM's who could win these tournaments that are Level 90 and below. The problem is once they start winning or placing in the top 5 they have to shoot what they are capable of shooting. Then what happens? Their average drops and they become a Legend and they can't take advantage of the ladies tees any longer in Match Play for Credit games.

    This, this and this. ^^^^^

Recovering from wayward shots (or a deviation) is what gets you to the top.

And there is no substitute for experience. once you reach level 90 it takes weeks and then months to advance to the next level.

Forgive me but I'm not seeing the logic here. If there are "TM's who could win these tournaments" but they don't because "they can't take advantage of the ladies tees", then the first part of the assertion contradicts the second part. Either they can or they can't win.

Also, consider the power of ego and there are certainly players who would rather achieve 'bragging rights' over money. To be a Level 86 Legend regularly placing in the Top 5 in tournaments would be a heck of an accomplishment.....and should happen from time to time.....but, again, you never see that.

Not quite. Either they can or cant, or they choose not to, in order to maintain their advantage from the tees.

This would seem to imply that all Level 80-ish Legends cannot recover from wayward shots as effectively as someone at Level 90 or above. Certainly there must be someone out there at that Level that could figure it out before they reached Level 90-ish.

Agreed.....but is it logical to sweep them ALL into that assumption. Again, bragging rights is more motivational than money for many people.

    Maybe it's the putting.

If you were to improve your 5-10ft  putt percentage, you'll be right up there with the best of them.

It's not cos the deviation is any less.
