    chrisironsbones:

But why punish the guys who have accumelated enough $, just because you havn't?

Here's what you're not getting chris:

WGT is making too much separation! The top wgters have not only the best clubs, but also the slowest meter! The tier system and all that was made to make it fair so that players of all tiers could play a good round, but it is SOOOO lopsided that there needs to be a change! The simplest way to so that is to take away the feel stat from balls or at least cut it in half!

The people who accumulate creds (me included) just get more and more EXCESS credits that they will never use, unless you are Bollox and you are 1/3 of the way to a set of real golf clubs! I haven't had to deposit in a long time while others deposit 5-10 dollars per week! It is not fair...I could start using starters again but then I could not compete with the guys that use the top end Nikes!

WGT needs to make the game harder because the top players hit the "excellent" mark or "ding" 2/3 of the time which is OUTRAGEOUS with the meters that are supposed to RACE by but are as slow as the beginner clubs! Should average distances to the hole be 7 ft? NO!!!! WGT claims it is the most realistic golf game on the web but 7 ft is NOT REALISTIC AT ALL unless you are a tour pro hitting a 30 yd pitch shot!

By the way esssy, I will not complain with a 28 on Oaky back 9 especially with the rare hole out eagle on #10...I am just saying that in those conditions an average tour pro, no scatch that-TIGER WOODS AT HIS PRIME would shoot 34, where the average score in that tournament was a 31 or 32.

There is just too much separation caused by the meter slowing golf balls! The fastest meter in the game is made that way so that it is tough to hit the ding, not hit it 2/3 of the time for someone like bollox or 1/5 of the time for the average "hacker" who averages 64 or 65!

.... Or, In Australia... the Printer Cartridge is worth more than the Printer. Buy a $40 printer, but the ink cartridges, when they run out costs $80....lol

this comes as no surprise roger.

printer ink is the most expensive consumer product on the planet with regards to quantity to price ratio......outdoing petrol or oil by an astronomical margin.

I am totally befuddled by your post Will.

If you think about it, who were the top earners before WGT Gi balls?  Before Cally's? Before Nikes?  And now with Nikes?

Has BiB started to suck since it's easier for everyone else?  Has Jake quit winning Rg's as well?, etc, etc.

I guess I just don't see your point...IMO say you took ALL feel from the balls, there would be more separation between the players.

    Willsstrs:

I copied this from another one of my posts- btw this was in the Nike Putter thread started by gfsullivan...

     gfsullivan:
$24 for  a Nike putter, $29 for a full set of top irons..... Yea, that makes sense.

    NOPE.....

But it makes lots of 'cents'

I completely agree...at least they give the opportunity for some people (bollox), (me) to make back the credits and not have to pay the $, only the time and stress...I bought a R11 driver at level 88 and it left me broke...no deposits later...I was back on my feet (thanks to my club owner for donating a sleeve of balls) before too long. I started winning creds again and now just turned lvl 89 and have around 3,000 credits.

Back to the original topic, WGT just wants to squeeze more money out of the players. They make a new top thing but make it super expensive so that only the top players can get it which creates wider separation, meaning no more credits for the lower people so they deposit more and more and more until WGT's profits triple...at least that's what it seems like they are trying to do...sry if I got it all wrong but that is just what it looks like

On another topic, why doesn't wgt have blade irons? The reason the top scores are so low is because the irons/wedges are WAAAY too forgiving. If you're going to have a 3 iron that goes 240 yds, should it really end up inside of 20 ft on a missed shot? NO! The top tour pros IRL have an average distance to the pin of around 35 ft. while the top WGTers have an average distance to the pin of something like 7 ft...see a difference? I think the top irons should act like starters with better stopping power, longer distance, and much faster meter. Also WGT needs to stop with meter slowing balls...they make the fastest meters in the game feel like starters, allowing top players to ding those fast meters 2/3 of the time! No sir the "meter" in real life lasts like 1/4 second with many variables while WGT has it last like 1.5 seconds with only 1 variable! Waay to easy! You might "ding" a shot IRL maybe 1 out of 15 times, maybe 1 out of 8 for a Pro...

I agree 100 percent. You mentioned that pros "ding" about 1 out of 8; I think it was Ben Hogan -- one of the greatest ball strikers ever -- who said he usually hit about 2 perfect shots per round. I think it's much more satisfying to struggle to make par and be happy with that than to be pissed if you don't make 47 birdies in a row. (which is good for me, since I'm always struggling to make pars, lol)

Maybe if WGT implemented something like say the Top 10 winners of what ever $$$ winning tourny's can't play the following month or two, or at least not actually win the pot of gold. Perhaps that would give others a chance at getting some of the goodies. It's only a suggestion. Personally since my state doesn't allow me to participate in these things, it wouldn't matter to me one way or the other. But something along those lines might would help out in sharing the wealth so to speak.  Yeah?
