I have now played three matchplay challange games where the person I am playing has cheated by representing a handicap that is much higher than what they actually shoot.  The first time I didn't know people were doing this and was naive.  The last two times it has been sandbaggers that I checked out before hand.  The last guy had a 74 handicap and had 5 birdies on the first six holes.

When is WGT going to do something about this.  The stats should come up right at the start screen so that you can see what kind of ranked rounds they have, and see if there is anything fishy like a 20-4 record against a tier that is 2 higher than theirs.

Don't pay so much attention to the score average (it's not a handicap) and ranked rounds -- that's what sandbaggers manipulate; look closely at their match play stats; and don't play high level, low tier players

Don't always pay too much attention to their score history either as that can be manipulated, but the one thing I do take note of is scores in RG's as I don't suspect they will want to be throwing credits away there either.

I have never run across a cheat, yet. But everyone is writing about cheats and sandbagger's , well what about the biggest cheat in the game WGT, everyone seems to overlook that one. Here is just a few examples

    1) lying dots on the greens

    2) holes that are actually 2-5 yards longer than they state

    3) aim the shot , ding the the shot ,ball goes in the complete opposite direction( sometimes)

    4) no constancy with the clubs

    5) This is just my own personal thought, the game plays to the player

Don't get me wrong this is a great game, but lets not overlook  one of the biggest sources of misrepresentation there is WGT.

Oh this is not real life, this is a man made game

That would be nice but maybe a little cumbersome to include. I would be happy if you could just click the waiting players' name, like you can do AFTER the game starts, and see that info.

You can tell a lot about a player by the join date, the clubs they carry, the level versus the "average" and the personal bests.

    Woodoworkery:
    1) lying dots on the greens

These were one of my biggest annoyance, but nothing we can do expect try and remember them and where they are ( although easier said than done, many a time i try and remember how a certain "fake" break plays, only to forget next day.  I'm sure many of the top players have it all noted down.  I guess i'm just to lazy to do the same!

    Woodoworkery:

You will remember these the more you play them and know where they are i.e Bethpage #1, Cabo #5, RSG #4.  The more you play them you will realise that they are long/shorter than advertised and you can adjust accordingly.

    Woodoworkery:
    4) no constancy with the clubs

This is down to plain old deviation (or bad game physics on certain shots and deviation is just a word to camoflage this???)

    yes!

Hmmmm, where you trying to take advantage?   Your average is 7 strokes lower than his, thought it was going to be ez money huh?

No, I did not see it as ez money.  I warned him ahead of time that this wasn't a fair match and that our handicaps were too far apart.  Told him that he should play people closer to his handicap.  He then proceeded to want to play anyway.

That's why a real MP lobby would be nice, it'd give plenty of time to look at players.

In the meantime, I just set the default to Legend, figure if i lose, it'll be to someone who worked at the game!
