For Randell and the OP...
WGT advertises itself as the most realistic online golf game, no?
Yet you need/want to complain about various inconsistancies and whatnot. You feel that if you hit the exact same shot or better that you should be able to play cartoon golf and stick your drive within a 10' circle, your approach to within 1' and every putt should drop, right?
No. Sorry. That's just not 'realistic golf'. What you want can be found elsewhere, where they play 'cartoon golf'. Easy enough to find so I won't mention it's name here.
Let's look at some 'realistic golf', shall we?
Tiger Woods, 2007 stats.
- 59% Fairways (Highest ranked PGA players FIR 75.97%)
- 71% Greens (ranked 1st btw)
- Putting average 1.7+
Let's compare those stats to random WGT'ers like AvatarLee (Arguably the best still playing), RandellPoet (who has been here less than one month), and SusieLuke (who has been here less than 10 days), shall we?
- 93% / 78% / 79% Fairways
- 80% / 64% / 36% Greens
- Putting Average 1.3+ / 1.8+ / 2.1+
Wow... Tiger has been playing his game since he was 3. Our WGTer who has been playing for one month can match his stats fairly well... and the WGT'er who has been here for years and has practiced his keister off pretty much obliterates TW's stats.
Bottom line... yes, there are inconsistancies.. there is the Beast and there is Vemmie... there is the erratic swing meter and all the other vagaries of playing golf electronically... and yes, there is the prospect of trying to mollify any and all of these with an investment of cash which will never work as well as you thought it should... but when all is said and done this game is still just online entertainment.
WGT ~is~ the most realistic golf on the internet. Not the easiest, not the smoothest, not even the cheapest...
But it is realistic and you're free to come and go however and whenever you should choose.
