2 words of advice so far, punch shots.  Learn them.  They minimize the wind and check nicely.

First round front 9. Shot +1, got longest drive and the tin cup dance award for 9 holes. It was fun.

Haven't broken 34 yet...LOVE St. Andrews, though...Anybody hole in one on 9?  I hit the flagstick on my drive, then it caromed onto back fringe and birdied. Cruel.

Very enjoyable 1st practice round. A not-too-shabby 32 that I was pleasantly surprised with. The 5th hole - I was actually putting for eagle... a 75 footer that I hit strong and ended-up 6 ft away after hitting the cup. I missed the "easy" birdie putt and took par while 3-putting. :(

Chose to practice with Moderate winds and Very Fast greens.

I reviewed each "Hole Info tip", and checked all the camera zoom views, so I know there are disasters lurking that could easily spoil a good round. I'll undoubtedly find these in the future, so I'm not gonna say this new course addition is "easy"... not just yet. ;)

    Thanks WGT. :^)

I was so excited to play St. Andrews i didn't clear cache. I went straight to the site. Par on 1,2, and 3. Bogie on 4 from the front left pot bunker. Birdie on 5. 52' putt to 3.1' and birdie!

Drove the green on #9 and 2 putted from 84'. Another birdie!

Final score was -1. A terrific experience.

Had 2 drives of 301 yds. Several putts from 50' or more.

    What a wonderful surprise.

Thanks to all at WGT for this.

First round and a lot of fun.  -5 with 4 lip outs to settle for pars.  I suspect there will be some low low scores on this side.  Hopefully the pins get moved around a bit but fun nevertheless.

    Great experience!

Lots of lurking trouble on the course. A bit too easy to hit driver on  but as soon as you think that, you miss the meter and the fun begins.

Try playing this one with heavy winds and very fast greens. You wont be able to get real close most of the time and 30 mph winds do effect your putts.

Great addition to the library. I hope the back 9 comes out soon along with a couple of pin position options.

    Well done WGT!

BTW...-2 on my first round..medium winds and very fast greens.
