I think you guys need to check either your website code, or some of your advertisements.

I came to WGT today and it immediately started executing Antivirus 2012, which is a rogue AV.

I came back and didn't have the issue, but it for sure came from the WGT site, not sure if it was an advertisement that it came from (that is how they execute that rogue AV a lot of times, Weather.com, eBay just to name a couple that was caught by this in advertisements.) or if you have someone that has found a backdoor to your website and added some malicious code.

But I think a check is in order for the code....whether it be on the website, or in an ad.

Had the exact same incident happen to me 2 of the last 3 times I clicked on the WGT website.  Hadn't said anything as I hadn't seen anything here in the forums.  I click on dozens of websites a day and WGT is the only instance where this has occured.

yea...I got this Windows antivirus 2012 window today when I opened Wgt...I'm glad I saw this post, cause I was gonna blame my buddy for lookin at porn again..

Seems that it must be from an advertiser who just signed on to WGT in the last few days..

Iconian, you guys should really look into this...

Golden rule: always disable (any) AV when playing games.

I usually don't say much when it comes to this subject.  But, anyone disabling AV when they are on the internet are inviting trouble.  Any good AV today will be kernel mode driven which take very little resources.

The threat appears to be Rogue Scanner (Type 1927)

According to AVG it is currently ranked 3 in the world for on line threats.

    This needs to be addressed.

Question: is it possible for a virus to affect one site only, as in WGT? I ask this because i had terrible trouble with WGT just over a week ago. Any time i visited the WGT site, it would basically crash on me, pages would take an age to load, if they did eventually load, and i was getting froze out in all types of games. This is the post i put up then:
