I just started playing this game again after a while but I have never been a "master" yet I have always been given this as my level. I think I am about pro or maybe amateur level and so its hard to compete with these players who shoot in the 50's, for me that is not going to happen. I am lucky to shoot 1-2 under on most rounds, especially single event tournaments, etc... I use a couple clubs that are master level after but only because the distances for the master tees are so difficult because of length.

ok well if anyone knows I would appreciate it.

    Thanks and best of luck.

You already are a Master so it's too late now to ask how you become one.  I know what you mean though, I think this game can advance you too fast.  If you want the actual numbers I remember mine, but I think everyone is a bit different based on ranked rounds played, etc.  I turned Pro at 75.00  I turned Master at 65.80, but there in lies the rub.  I assumed you turned Master at 65.00.  I made it down to a 64.80 briefly, and then turned when I hit 65.80.  So I'm not sure how they do it.  I'm guessing from here on out it's all about practice.

    Have fun.

i have been told by many that 90.0 is Amateur, 75.0 is pro and 65.0 is master.

As far as I can tell once you make a certain rank (pro, master) you will never be set back to Amateur even if you totally blow your average. I have see some mark "Pro" and have a 90+ Average.

As for me, I will never get above Amateur because I can never get my average below 83 (my mouse clicking coordination skills are nill, medically, which I consider a utterly ridiculous critical part of a golf game)

As long as you are having fun Alexis, that's all that matters.  I just play for myself and really have no interest in match play or tournies for now.  I also thought that the numbers are what you posted.  However I was a Pro for a day or two at 64.90.  I turned Master when I hit 65.80.  If you look through the players list, you can find quite a few Pros in the 64.00 range.  They use some other method besides straight average I believe.

You really can't go by the stated average in the players list. I have been told once you get to a level rank even if your average drops below that you will never be set back. So you could have a 'Master' that made the 65. but is now at 90. I have seen listed MANY 'Pros' that have a higher average than me (83.7 at the moment)

I could care less about ranks, but I can't get any decent gear until I make Pro, because all the Pro Shop gear for Amateurs is mostly crap IMHO.

sorry what I meant was can I go backwards? I am not good enough to be at this level and would have more fun playing at pro or amateur. I will play either way but I just know I cant compete with the players on here who are true masters and shoot in the low 60's and even 50's so that part isn't much fun.

If I ever get to pro, I will just stay there.

As a matter of fact if I can ever get to Pro I can start enjoying the game and not worry about a +22 because of missed putts
