OK I am back again with this subject. Some members will think that I am stubborn, but I learnt that sometime you need to “fight” to get something right happening (women knows very well about it).
Issue:
The WGT Tour is the most exciting competition so far on WGT and players from non eligible countries are not allowed to play it to the end.
I believe that this is not right that players from non eligible countries are not allowed to participate to the grand final of the WGT Tour when they manage to finish in the top 3.
Due to legal issues, players from non eligible countries cannot win any prizes. That’s fine but that’s already a punition. Why giving them an additional punition by not allowing them to play to the end?
Let’s take myself as an example.
During the WGT Fall Tour, I finished 2nd in the November championship. However I could not play the grand final in January 2012. The same goes for Elvinomepego.
I managed to finish 3rd in the February championship and second in the March Championship and should be qualified for the WGT Winter Tour grand final in April (I even qualified twice). However, from the following news
http://www.wgt.com/news/archive/2012/03/28/last-chance-to-enter-the-free-wgt-winter-tour.aspx
It appears that, again, I will not be able to play the grand final. That’s very disappointing.
Solution:
Since this grand final should be played among 9 eligible players, the solution is pretty simple.
For each championship, the top 3 players are qualified for the grand final + subsequent eligible players in the ranking to have 3 eligible players qualified.
Like this you have 9 eligible players who play for the prize during the grand final + some non eligible players who finished in top 3 and who are playing for the fun.
For example:
in January, the top 3 players were all eligible, so those 3 players are qualified (Bolloxinbruges, Dianne81 and Mohuyu).
In February, there is 1 non eligible player in top 3, so the first subsequent eligible player is also qualified (Hanswurst72, xXxxMARCxxXx, Genorb, jimbean346)
In March, there are 2 non eligible players in top 3, so the two first subsequent eligible players are also qualified (dansamcam, genorb, Starsandros, DarSum, dud_doodle)
So at the end you get 9 eligible players who are playing for the prize during the grand final:
- Bolloxinbruges
- Dianne81
- Mohuyu
- Hanswurst72
- xXxxMARCxxXx
- jimbean346
- dansamcam
- DarSum
- dud_doodle
and also two non eligible players playing for fun
- Genorb
- Starsandros
I think that this is a reasonable solution and this is not much asking. It doesn’t alter the competition at all (competition between 9 players for the prize) and allow players from non eligible countries, who fight hard during this intensive competition, to get the prize they are looking for, namely being able to compete with the bests.
I hope that this appeal will be taken into consideration and that non eligible players will be able to play the grand final for which they qualified.
Please if you want to support this appeal, reply to this post.
Thanks in advance for your help.
