    neildiamond11790:
How does a player qualify or join the Ryder cup?  I would like to be in the mix.

    Me too.

Keep an eye on this thread .... Seve will announce when qualifiers will begin ....

As I understand it everyone can go through qualifying and the top players will be selected to be on the final team.    Last year 10 qualified and there were 2 captain "wild card" pics.

Will probably be similar this year ....

BUT WATCH CLOSE .... IF IT YOU MISS THE FIRST WEEK OR 2 OF QUALIFYING IT'S VERY HARD TO MAKE UP GROUND.

As for your suggestion, I had already considered something like that, but I had put the idea to one side. Dunno, mabe I will think about it, we will see...

10 players total, or 10 players per side?

Per side. Twelve in total, like the real Ryder.

    Hi Ivietri / Seve,

On your idea Ivietri - personally I dont particularly go for it. Its certainly an option, but imo not for me. That not with standing, I will go by whatever rules are placed in front of me.

One thing you may have to take into account Seve, is some form of playoff for that 9th and  10th spots. There is going to be a hell of a lot of competition for places and I can see a number of players tying for those lower spots. What system do you have to separate them currently?

This is going to be real tough, just to qualify :-)  I do remember being totally drained after last years comp LOLOL. I was totally stu---d !! Maybe due to the late late night matches down under. I dont think I played for weeks after, but then I slowly recovered - great comp though.

    Just my 2bobs worth

    Cheers Doug

Doug .. no argument from me but .. I'm not sure if i should be confused ... or laugh because your pulling my chain .... But I think what i suggested was a playoff for the 9th and 10th spots.  Whatever the boss decides is ok with me.  I won't make it anyway .. :)

    Peace

    Hi Ivietri,

LOL - yeh I see what you mean. I think there is a difference - just what it is I'm not sure LOL.

To be honest its gonna work out to be one and the same. There has to be some method to split players that tie for those lower spots 8,9, & 10.

"I wont make it anyway" - well, dont be to sure about that, when the pressure is on anything can happen. Playing well under pressure is the key - its amazing what happens when those nerves kick in, even to the very best players.

I was a Pro last year and qualified, and actually won a match in the tournament - how goods that? So - never say never. What you need is 4 nice consistent rounds in the mid to upper 60's and you'll go close - maybe even get one of those playoff spots your talkin about lol.

Hey if you want a bit of practice - hit me up sometime, and we'll have a round. I would enjoy that.

Peace - indeed. Thats what we use to say in the 60's - but nobody took any notice, and they still dont.

Pity really -  is it that hard. I think not.

    Cheers Doug

    Hey Thunder,

    Thats a "NEGATIVE" - unless I'm missing something ??

Keep an eye on the front page. When Seve's ready to give everyone the details - thats where he'll post it. I dont see anything just yet.

    Cheers Doug
