I wanted to share with the community all the knowledge I have accumulated since I play this game. I am starting with 3 videos. I plan to add more or not depending on reactions to this post.

The two first videos were my very first try. The video size is a bit small (a bit larger on Youtube). This is just a 18-hole round in two parts (front 9 and back 9). I have edited the video to cut non useful transition screens to reduce the video size and length at  maximum and also to add few comments.

The third video is about short game. The video size is a bit larger (on Youtube) and there are more comments and tips. It is intended for beginners. I am not sure experienced players will learn anything looking at those videos.

This is not easy to be pedagogic. Constructive comments and critics about how to improve the content of this post are very welcome.

Notice also that the tips given in those videos are basic tips. We could discuss endlessly if we need to add 20% of power instead of 25% in a given situation, that's not really the purpose of this post. Fine tuning needs to be done with a given equipment (clubs + balls). The point is to show that there are some systematics that each players have to uncover depending on his style of play and his equipment. Of course, those "rules" have their exceptions. This is not easy to cover all possible situations and all possible exceptions to those "rules". I tried my best and could probably do better with good suggestions.

Be sure it takes time recording, editing and uploading the videos. I hope you appreciate the effort, even if I am not really convinced it will be that useful. Let me know eventually.

Possible videos to come: More about short game. Approach shot and how to counter wind (distance and deviation). Putting.

Event: July NKF Cadillac Classic Golf.

Course: Royal Saint Georges; Wind: Low; Tee: Legend; Green: Very fast

    Front 9:

    Back 9:

    Event: Practice round at Bethpage

Wind: Low; Tee: Legend; Green: Very fast

    Tips for short game:

Nice job, Fabian. I have no doubt that these will be very useful. (Bookmarking the thread.)

One thing, if possible after they're made-slow down the switch off the text pages. In the meantime, be ready to hit pause when you see text. That works good.

Hi Jim, Thanks for your comment.

I am aware of this. But one has a restriction of 15 minutes length per video on youtube. To post a longer video you need to give your mobile phone number, something I don't want to do :) . So I cannot make a slow down on the text page without going over 15 minutes (the video about short game is already at few seconds from the limit, it was quite long and difficult to edit to fit within 15 minutes :) ).

So, indeed, when you see a text page, you need to press pause. On this matter I cannot do better, except if what I recorded last significantly less than 15 minutes. But less than 15 minutes for a 9-holes is a bit fast for me :) (I know Priestess can do it in 10 minutes, but not me :) ).

    Regards

I noticed a routine that you do when you swing. While the swing is coming you take the swing icon up and over real quick before you click. Is this a timing thing for you that helps you ding?  LOL, seems to work pretty good.  ;-)

I noticed that as well. That's something I always look at when our better players make these videos. The sweeping motion right then back left.

Well Jim, that's something I do since almost the beginning. Indeed that's a routine, a ritual :) . I don't remember precisely when I started but that's long ago.

First of all, I swing horizontally and not vertically like many others are doing. Then once I have set the power I want, I go quickly over the excellent mark with the swing icon, then I move again the swing icon and click. It doesn't look like a very economic way for swinging because I move a lot the mouse, but it's automatic you know, I almost do not control those movements. I guess going over the excellent mark with the swing icon help me to focus on the excellent mark to stop better the meter.

very nice G .. i'll look at these every now & then, especially for bunker shots, which i suck at ..

i also swing horizontally, but bring the swing marker back so that bottom arrow sits just to right of ding line .. gonna give your method a shot for fun

Very very useful Fabian, any chance of getting into calculating the wind into the shot, like what you guesstimate for the club you are using, and maybe totally ignore the wind with some clubs.

What to sub. from the wind when lets say you have a 15MPH wind at your back and it is at  10:00 or 2:00 they both should be the same.

What are your clubs calibrated at? NS....3/4BS.....FBS ? Wow sorry getting carried away LOL

anyway you get what I'm asking.

How do you bookmark this thread?

Thanks for taking the time out of your busy day to do this
