To be frank Columbus , I thing the starter and UEL combination is the only way to play, and to have these guys run a comp for us is wonderful.

    All credit to them.

Lets not overrun the schedule this time C & C as that is really tedious, we can all make excuses, but ................

if u ain't available then don't enter. Apologies to hurricane Sandy

Here's a quick status report on the tourney:

We're now at 25 participants, with the deadline for entry being this coming Friday 1/11 (at midnight PST). Players include some of the very best on WGT, with many of the top finishers in various tiers of the recent WGT Invitational. It's quite a field!

My aim is to publish an initial round of player pairings tonight or at latest by lunchtime tomorrow. They'll be listed on the first page, so please check that frequently.

I'm also finalizing the special prizes, so here's a final call to ask if anyone would like to offer anything towards prizes. Hans has already pledged a coaching session for a random winner amongst all those finishing but not otherwise in the places. Anyone want to offer sleeves, etc? Cerino and I are covering the main prizes, and all the admin for the tourney, so we'd appreciate any help any of you hi-rollers might be able to spare towards a fuller roster of awards. Thanks!

Thank you everyone for signing up. I'm really looking forward to the tourney.

    ---------------

P.S. I notice that Hans has had Starters in the bag all day, no doubt practicing like crazy... Ominous... Very ominous!

You wouldnt believe how much I practiced last time lol... if anyone beats that -6 i will think of another special prize. I will most likely not do so, haven't got any feel back by now =)

    Cheers, Hans

Just messin' with you, Hans, just messin' with you!

Although any decent tourney surely needs a good bit of pre-tournament 'chat'... you must appreciate that coming straight off the Ryder Cup!!!

And, OeJ, I'll bet you've been putting in a bit of practice today as well... am I right?

    All in fun ... :)

    I'm in.

I will sponsor a prize for the lowest score among players Master tier (at the start of the tourney) and lower...a new set of Irons!   Hopefully, there's still time to recruit more less-experienced players with this added incentive.  I will check score history and reserve the right to snub baggers, multi-accounters, and blitz kings...and obviously no brand-new accounts.

The irons will be player's choice from the pro shop, for up to around two weeks after the end of the tournament if more XP are needed to get to a desirable set, like the L59 G20s.  I can be flexible on this.  Max Precision not included (the idea is to get the winner the clubs they'd buy if they were spending their own money).

Wow, what an incredibly generous offer! Thank you so much, Ben. (And delighted that you're joining the tourney).

Right now, we only have 3 Masters enrolled (and none from any lower tier), but it's a great incentive...

... The only challenge is how to reach those lower-level players?

There must be many proficient Starter Clubs Amateurs, Pros, Tour Pros, Masters out there... just dying for a chance to tee up on a level playing field with some of the big boys. Where are you folks?

(If anyone else sees this, and can spread the word within your cc's, please feel free! Thanks!)
