Hey Wes, I can not play Sunday right at 20.00 pm my time but at 20.30.

Pm's send to Wes & Corwyn.

I hope we find a solution soon.

How about you just go for Sunday at 21:00 instead Eric's time, which is 2:00pm for Wes.

That gives Eric an extra half hour to be sure the princesses are all asleep, and to warm up for the match (who knows, it may be the competition decider!!!).

Hooray, looks like we got there in the end!

    --------------------

FYI: Jim and I (match G: Corwyn vs jimbech) are also playing at the weekend, it turns out. We're set to tee off at our 8pm Pacific time (WGT time) on Saturday evening (which is 4am UTC).

Given the one sided look of the other singles matches so far,  Iconian and myself had a much tougher match.

Iconian started well winning the 1st hole, however after finding the 60/70 rough on the par 3,   3rd hole, i took the chance to get back in the match.

On the 7th, my approach landed a foot from the pin, making it ROW 1up., but Iconian came back on the par 3 9th,  as it was my turn to find the severe lie from the tee.

AS at the turn,  but on the 12th, Iconian hit the 40/50 rough from the tee,  So it was ROW back to 1up.

Onto the 16th and Iconian levelled the match once more. However, fortune favoured ROW and after a birdie on 17, I made par on 18 to leave the final score ROW 2up.

Wow! Great win, Steve, and what a close-sounding match.

All the tension one would expect from a classic Ryder Cup encounter! That was a real captain's contribution and a key point for the team. Go ROW!

That's me with my ROW hat on, btw. Can you tell I'm excited?!!!

    ------------------

Edit: here are the latest standings after 3 of the 12 singles matches:

Overall Series Score: Team ROW: 8.5  |  Team USA: 6.5

FlaTexBoy (USA) vs Alcaucin (ROW) = Tie-Breaker Match ended in a tie (AS).

I had a very enjoyable and competitive match with Andy (Alcaucin). As you can see from the scorecards, the game was pretty even all the way through.  My putter started off hot during the Front 9, then completely cooled off during the Back 9 -- and just the reverse for Andy (made some great shots and putts to "even" the game).

Not only was the match enjoyable, but believe I met a new WGT Friend, and look forward to more casual/competitive matches...great comeback.

Thanks again Russ (ColumbusStorm) for inviting me to play...truly enjoyed,

    Grant.

Was a great match with Tex...

Forgot I had R1 equipped not R11s..so drove into bunk #1...7 more shots and 2 more bunks later.....ceded :)

Both Eagled #2...and I missed 2 easy birds on F9 to be AS.....

But TBH Grant had 3 that shudda dropped only to dive left o right in the last 6 inches.

Front 9, 2 down, was a fair scoreline.. ! ( if not a little generous for me )

Back 9 went better..pressure off so freed the arm up,  3 putts for 50+ ft got AS after 3 down on #12.

Beaut of a 3i punch from a bad drive on #18 from 30/40 ruff to 12 ft ( 19 mph wind with ), meant match finished AS

Never met Grant before but a pure Gent and interesting conversation.

    Hope we have many more..

    Andy

    Thanks, Corwyn

Merion :: 2-player Matchplay :: Practice Mode :: Full 18 holes :: Medium Pins :: Champion (Hardest) tees :: Tournament Green speed :: High wind :: Uneven Lies :: 90 second timer

Please note: Matches should end at the 18th, if they haven't ended earlier. You should not play Extra Holes. If match is tied after 18, then the result is A/S.

Finally, please remember to get the scorecard. I especially like Steve's trick of capturing the full story of the match by clicking on each players name for front and back 9s and sharing the full card that way (see his post above).
