The driver is brand new-never had those dots-and is the first club to have something different than a whole or half dot value.

And IMHO is a perfect way to show the flexibility of the number system over the dots.

I'm guessing it's still based off of the max of 5 with the option to increase in the future.

Now we have numbers instead of dots the numbers can go above 5. I think thats why it was changed.

It was a smart & needed change. It removed the hand-cuffs with regard to what can be. With time, level 100 will be quite common and the change eliminates mega-dot burnout. The future for clubs & balls is now exciting to imagine.

    Isn't this obvious? NO LIMIT

I couldnt agree with you more!!! you are bang on!!! I totally wanted the level 95max club set, now im relectant as I feel other new clubs etc will be comparable.

There will always be comparable clubs until you get the best. Even then, though, they're still comparable because they're useless if you don't know them. The same can be said for any set because what's important is how YOU handle them.

IMHO, you'll have the best fun if you get a set you like and commit to them. Learn them inside and out and what you can do with them. You'll see what you need to have, eventually, based on how you learn what you have first. That's when you'll really appreciate the difference.  GL.  :-)

What Jim said.......... plus try different balls you will find that some club/ball combo's work better together. Give it a try and don't give up on a set of clubs  until  you have learned them throughly. It will make you a better virtual golfer......    ;-))

yup, dots were ALOT easier for me to read quickly compared to the dots.. why on earth would they completely get rid of the "dots system"? atleast give us an option, numbers or dots.. im sure most would go back to the dots lol

Where do they go after that 5th dot is full?

Im OK with changing to a numbering system but I am confused about swing meter speed. is 1 the slowest ? I personally liked the graph for swing meter speed but once informed i'm sure that i will get used to the new system .

With the new system, the higher the number the better it is.

With the old system the slowest meter speed would be indicated by a   but with the new system that will be a 5.0. It wasn't possible to go any slower than that with the old speedo, but with the new numbering system, now it is.

But at the other end of the scale the fastest meter speed   will now be a 0.0 and unless they start producing clubs with a negative meter speed value, that is the fastest.

So in summary, the fastest meter speed will be a 0.0 and as the number increases, the meter speed slows down.

This is the best explanation I've seen, yet ideally it should not be required.  Defining meter "speed" as something opposite to what is expected will continually raise questions by people trying to understand it.

My suggestion is to reverse this scale "now" while people are still scrambling to get used to the new number scales and have questions/suggestions in general about the pro shop changes.

In the long run it will probably have to be changed anyhow as more and more players scratch their heads when comparing clubs/balls that indicate relative meter speeds and find that it's the opposite of what they are thinking, particularly if it affects a purchase decision and requests for returning clubs/balls start piling up.

To me it makes more sense either to A) choose another label like "meter time" that is consistent with the direction of the observed effect e.g. time T from full swing to ding line (say with starter balls across all clubs) or B) to assign a "speed" value based on the same thing e.g. 1/T or avg speed from full swing to ding (cm/sec?).

For balls, the "new" meter speed parameter can use a scale that affects a starter ball time or speed (pick an arbitrary club across all balls) and again base it on a label of increased time ("meter time" label) or slower speed ("meter speed" label).
