Icon says it will fix itself, hopefully. So he knew early. China John gets an email back from WGTsupport saying their engineers are working on it, so they knew. Now WGTAdmin is asking what the problem is.

Seriously, dudes, what the hell are you doing over there?

WGT  while i appreciate the golf game itself, you have the most ignorantly absurd webpage/website. The loading and horrendous game play is a joke. It  makes me even more insane becuase here i sit again. How i long for the day when you get competition from a rival site, this may make you EITHER FIX THE BUGS OR FOLD THE TENT. A man can dream.

    WGTadmin:
We are reviewing this situation since there are increasing reports about slow loading.

    WGTadmin-

Here is what I have experienced in the last 48 hours:

    4/28

I played a blitz game. On eight of the nine holes I never saw where my shot landed. Usually after you shoot your shot you get a close up of the green to see where your ball lands, that only happened once in nine holes, the other 8 times after I hit my shot the game would just spin endlessly trying to load the reverse angle. Before I hit my shot, if I hit "reverse angle/view" so I could move the flag....it usually timed me out and I got a warning.

    4/29-

    - I composed a new post in my CC forum, when I was done I hit "post"....I got the "closed for maintenance" screen.

    - I closed that tab, cleared cache, got back on WGT, went to my CC to see if my post had been posted (it had not), clicked "log out" to log out of the game.......got the "closed for maintenance" screen again.

    - When I go to this thread in the forums

    http://www.wgt.com/forums/t/233398.aspx?PageIndex=2

I get this strange pop-up that says the program "v v cap.net" wants me to enter a username and password. I'm not the only one. I provided the link to page 2 so you could read 3 comments about this problem, I believe there is another on page 3. Oddly enough, the pop-up does not happen on page 2 or 3, it only happens on page 1. Twominusone has provided screenshots of the pop-up in his post on page 2.

    Hope this helps.

    MC

I messaged Icon on Sunday and he knew nothing about this. I messaged the Support team on Saturday and they asked if I'd cleared my caches and history. I'm pretty easy going but lessons need to be learned from this. I'm trying to persuade club members not to give up the game but I'm running short on reasons to give them.

Like everything that goes on with WGT. You wanna play, play.

They certainly do not give two shits what anyone here thinks about how they admin and run their servers/game. Starting threads about issues is really kinda pointless, other than read some of the funny things people post. WGT doesn't care what people write here when it comes to game/server issues.

As long as you're spending money, that's all that matters. Anything and everything they do is driven by one thing, get your money.

This has been a perfect example, and really should drive this home. For days now the place has been a mess, they knew it, everyone knew it. They don't even have the courtesy to post that there is a problem, thanks we're working on it. Nope, just a bunch of BS from lackeys who collect some type of check from them coming in here asking players 'what's the problem?' What do they do? Load up more *** for you to spend money on, make it so lower tiered players and the MA sandbaggers can kick your ass even easier now that they don't have to level up as high. LoL... Rly? That part don't bother me as I don't play that stuff, but for some... ya.. have fun with that.

But on the plus side... game is much smoother - should I buy something to say thanks?

    Thanks WGT               V

Hmm, not quite there yet I see.  I just needed 5 or 6 tries to get WGT to open at all.  Now I'm here it's working fine but I had a few time outs before getting this far.

yup yup same here Courtney....even i'm losing enthusiasm for the game lately ..customer service is very poor..........we can rarely ever get a str8 answer to a question ....and to add insult to us ..we get the usual clean ya puter rubbish.

Just for your Information wgt if you have  members emailing you with a fault and they have been here longer than a week please dont insult them by saying clean ya cache and cookies and oh , try another browser. for petes sake we all do that b4 we email you.its just taken as an insult to ones intelligence .

On the positive side the site is quicker after your update....on the down side ..the appauling amount of time it took for  someone from wgt to even stick their head up especially after all of the posts in the forum...really really sad ......"up the top of the page it says {WGT COMMUNITY}....it really does feel as though you(WGT) are not part of it, to be honest.

I don't know what they did during the update but somehow they made browsing the forums, checking leaderboards and so on faster but made playing a round a lot worse.  Basically everything got turned on it's head.

I failed to complete a round with someone tonight, I doubt this has happened to me more than twice previously in the nearly 4 years I've been here.

Can you imagine if WGT programmers were surgeons?  Well, we've saved your leg but accidently cut your head off.  We'll try to sew it back on as soon as possible.
