    I just bought one and the center area of the swing meter shrinks up way too much when I swing. More like a 2.5 forgiveness club than a 4.0.

    I doubt that many use it.  The low-level R1 will take most people to the uber-clubs later on, and the people that need a driver in the low 280s will almost assuredly take the SLDR.

    This normally happens when you hold onto you back swing for too long.I know Players use this method to try and smooth out their meter or wait for the cpu to die down.

     If i misread what you were saying i'll just shut up lol.

    Thanks Russell. This is during the backswing that it shrinks up. I don't hold onto the backswing at all. I was hoping someone out there was using the max meter 282 and could tell me if this happens to them, or maybe help me understand why it does this. It sure took me by surprise for a 4.0 forgiveness/max meter club. None of the other max meter clubs I've had thru L91 wedges do this. And my 4.0 forgiveness Covert 282 doesn't do it. And it's an even more precise club and also has a faster swing meter.

    This is common to all clubs except putter AFAIK. Measurement of initial shrinking of the light blue area around the ding, from idle to 100% meter, on my screen:

    Driver: 4 => 2 cm

    (continuously widening towards shorter clubs)

    8i       4.5 => 2.5 cm

    (...)

    64°     5 => 3 cm

    Putter  8.7 => 8.5 cm

    You'll notice forgiveness if you miss the ding and shoot straight regardless. The relevant characteristics when hitting the ding is precision.

    Thanks Michael. As a result of your comments, I rented and then bought an SLDR 282 L89 Black. So far I'm happier with it than with the Max Meter or even my Covert 282. It's less stressful than the Max Meter and even a little less stressful than the Covert. Thanks again.

    Thanks alosso. So maybe the Max Meter 240 3wd, 225 3h, and 215-110 irons will be better to hit than the 282 driver. I had planned to get them later on, so maybe I will still. But after my experience with the Max Meter 282 driver, I'll rent them first. Thanks again.

    I'm sorry alosso or anyone, did I miss anything about that graphic-

    Does this shrinking mean anything and/or affect the club shot at all?

    Why is it doing that?
