A newer version of this can be found HERE.
Okay boys & girls, here's a nice little tip for you. Most of us know that you can play just one hole of your choice from a selection of courses here at WGT, but the downside is that you're always stuck on the shortest tee and the green speed is standard (7.9).
I don't know how to change the green speed, but you can change your tee and the wind strength and also gain access to Cabo and Whistler, here's how...
PREPARATION
1.) From the WGT Community / Golf Courses menu at the top of the forum, select your chosen course and hole to play, let the game client fire up and you'll find yourself on the front tee as usual.
2.) To change the various options you'll need to modify the URL (web address) in the game client window. In some browsers you will be able to do this in the game client window, in others, you will need to copy the URL from the address bar and paste it into a normal browser window to be able to edit it. (When copying, make sure you get ALL of it as it is quite long).
TEE
3.) Look for the text 'Tee_1' in the URL, it's closer to the end than the beginning. Don't confuse it with 'TeeID', you don't want that. Scroll through the example URL below to see it highlighted in yellow.
http://www.wgt.com/gameclient.aspx?view=practiceHole&JSON=%7B%22HoleNum%22%3A%225%22%2C%22GameType%22%3A1%2C%22GameMode%22%3A2%2C%22Wind%22%3A%220%22%2C%22TeeID%22%3A%22Tee_1%22%2C%22GameCourseId%22%3A%22OLY_11_FC%22%2C%22Brand%22%3A%22%22%7D
The number '1' is the hacks & amateurs tee, change it to '2' for pros & tour pros, '3' for masters & tour masters & change it to '4' for legends, tour legends and champions.
(At Kiawah the tee identification comes up as a colour in the URL, eg %22BlueTee%22. In this case, just change the 'BlueTee' to Tee, underscore and a number from 1-4, eg 'Tee_3'.)
If you don't want to change the wind strength, just hit enter and you'll be taken back into the game on your chosen tee.
WIND
4.) To change the wind strength, the process is the same as for changing the tee, but you need to look for 'Wind' in the URL. Next, find the forth percent symbol '%' after the word 'Wind'. Next, locate the single number immediately before that fourth percent symbol, that is the number that determines the wind strength. Scroll through the example URL below to see it highlighted in orange.
http://www.wgt.com/gameclient.aspx?view=practiceHole&JSON=%7B%22HoleNum%22%3A%225%22%2C%22GameType%22%3A1%2C%22GameMode%22%3A2%2C%22Wind%22%3A%220%22%2C%22TeeID%22%3A%22Tee_1%22%2C%22GameCourseId%22%3A%22OLY_11_FC%22%2C%22Brand%22%3A%22%22%7D
The number '0' to the left of the last '%' symbol in the highlighted area above, represents a wind strength between 0-10mph, change it to '1' for wind strength between 10-20mph, and change it to '2' for wind strength between 20-30mph. Hit enter after changing the wind strength value, to be taken back into the game.
Having experimented with this a little, it appears that some courses will not produce a wind of between 20-30mph. My thoughts are that this has been designed into the game because those particular courses might never experience such high winds in real life, but that's only supposition on my part.
CABO & WHISTLER
5.) Two courses that are not available in single hole play via the usual route are Cabo and Whistler. These courses can be accessed while in a single hole game by looking for the 4th % symbol after the text 'GameCourseId' in the URL (highlighted in blue below). For Cabo, change the text before the 4th % symbol to CAB_11_FC and for Whistler, change the text before the 4th % symbol to WHI_12_FC. Accessing Cabo and Whistler this way may incur a green fee but do not be alarmed by this, any fees will be automatically refunded after your game.

HOLE NUMBER
6). The hole played can also be changed by modifying the URL. This is only really necessary for Cabo and Whistler as these courses aren't available from the community menu. Look for the 4th % symbol after the text 'HoleNum' in the URL (highlighted in green below), the 1 or 2 numbers directly before this % symbol indicate the number of the hole you are currently playing. If you are currently playing a hole number greater than 9 then you will edit the 2 numbers, if you are currently playing a hole number less than 10 then you will edit a single digit. Change it to the hole number you want to play and hit the enter key on your keyboard.

I'm not sure how WGT will feel about this, so if you spread the word, do it discreetly please, thanks.
Have fun! : )
