In the past wgt has stated that putts do not count against ball durability; however, a screenshot from a message was posted in another thread that putts now do indeed count against ball durability.

So wgt, which is it?  When did you start doing this?

Would be better to test it out to know for sure

But that came from a noob mod also lol

EDIT after a lil test I'm saying no they don't count as strokes on the ball

No. I don't think that they'd dare impose this.

Everything seems possible after their display in the Clash :(

In another thread, we are waiting for official response on a Q on Gimmes: Do they take a shot off ball life?

Thanks to all for your replies.  Maybe the new mod was confused...spdemon's test seems to confirm that putts don't affect durability.

Given recent and not-so-recent events, nothing they do or don't do surprises me anymore.

putts in the putting CTTH do count against baall life as do putts from the fringe, but not normal putts.

Are you sure of that b2b?  As I did a test not so long ago making many putts from the fairway to test this and the result proved that putting does not wear the ball at all. (Excluding mulligans).

Just did another test with a new ball and did 15 putts along the fairway. This is the wear indicator after the test...

    ↓↓ EDIT : You're welcome mkg, thank you.  : ) ↓↓

Better to test it than give false info from years past

And CTTH putting does not count either
