How much affect does the wind speed have? I never see the wind speed over 6 MPH. It's usually between 1 and 4 MPH.  I never adjust for the wind.

And how to read the greens? Some lines are red..some blue...some black?  Some dots are moving one way or the other. Some dots move towards each other?  I assume the the faster the dots are moveing, the more the break?

And the target. What does the footage mean at the top? It will have something like 2 feet at the top and the yardage underneath?

    Thanks.

    Ray

The wind effect generally depends on the hole. You'll find that it seems to have more effect on some than on others.

The red lines mean its going downhill, the blue ones mean it's uphill and the black ones mean its flat.

The dots, as you say, indicate the way the ball will swing, and, the quicker they move, the more swing.

For putting tips you can check out THIS THREAD.

The colors on the green indicate elevation change.  Black is flat, blue indicates an uphill swing and red indicates downhill.  The white dots show you which direction the green is breaking.  The faster the white dots move, the faster the break in that particular section.

The info in box just tells you how far away you are and what the ball's elevation is to the hole.  If it says 2" up, then the hole is 2 inches higher than the ball.

if you want to see winds over 6mph go to st andrews and set the wind to heavy.

If you don't consider the wind you will probably peak out around master.  On the other hand, if you never compete and merely play personal rounds on StA and Kiawah, you may make legend in your own mind.
