That is, unless WGT sends deviation values to the client, where it can be read by those who are hacking, at which point deviations can be compensated for.

i don't quite know what they've done to the game but it's seriously f*cked up....especially the ready goes.

just had a brutal ready go round st andrews. the meter had a mind of it's own. the wind acted like hurricane ali even though it was say 7mph.

maybe best i just call it a day and have a good break away from here and spend my money on the real game now that the season's back on and i can buiy 3 real balls pro v's or even callaways for the same price as these virtual ones lol....at least i will be able to retrieve them from weeds or water.

    see you around

i watched the weather report today....sunny with a strong 15mph easterly breeze....so i thought..hey i`ll put some washing on the line(i much prefer my clothes naturally dried) but to my amazement the clothes started flying around in different directions and gusting....bloody met office is lying to me!!

you have no control of the elements when your ball is in the air....if this game is supposed to be as realistic as possible than that would stand to reason.

meter glitches on shots.....never seen tiger woods address a ball and pull out because of the wind gusting...now im not saying all glitches are meant but im pretty sure some of them are(jmo) the game is very annoying at times and im not the best....but i try to live with it.

maybe wgt could try and show the wind more accurately apart from the little jiggle you get(keep your eye on that) i like the game and will continue to play(not as much as i used to..the men in white coats would be knocking my door)... thats not to say i think all the decisions wgt make are the right one...but thats why its in beta no?($30  in two years aint much skin off my nose)

now you can all say im talking crap but hey...just my opinion!

Check this out then, i'm in 40/50% rough with 18 mph wind pointing at 5 o clock, my 115 yard club travels full distance?

This is happening more often now than i can remember in the nearly year i've been a member.

that was one of those 180 degrees 25 mph gusts of wind chris....you know the ones...heh heh.....can i just say also...in the 2 years(7 month hiatus) ive been playing, i have not once seen wgt acknowledge any problem with the meter!

The meter performance is affected by a multitude of variables and affects every player differently due to their location, internet service provider, computer, what is installed on the computer and the settings on the computer/ browser. We are working on several solutions which will make the meter more consistent or perform smoother in more conditions but we do not have a simple or catchall solution that we can release. We do and will continue to seek solutions.

But to be clear WGT does not have any control to vary the meters performance by time, type of game, round or stroke. We cannot target an individual nor a specific stroke.

If the meter is performing better or worse at a particular moment it is probably due to congestion between the server and your machine or the current CPU and RAM utilization on your computer.  We have found that most of the issues have to do with the amount of RAM you have and the CPU performance of your system. Running streaming music/video, itunes, anti virus scans, etc...   will noticeably degrade the performance of the meter.

This being said we are actively investigating ways to improve the meter.

Thank you for that admin. It appears everyone's past suspicions about poor meter performance was spot-on. At least the meter nay-Sayers have something to go on now.  : )
