They clearly won't fix this so, what I do with gmail, is go to create a filter and create a filter that skips the inbox and sends all emails from noreply@worldgolftour.com into a folder. Very simple to do it's under options.

This way you can check or not check it as you feel like. Post

Hell, I unchecked the box saying that I want email from my Country Club months ago.  I'm still getting mail when anyone posts in a thread I posted in from my FORMER country club.

    ADMIN TAKE NOTE:

Unwanted texts, email and the CAN-SPAM Act

Federal rules require the following for commercial email sent to your mobile phone:

    • Identification – The email must be clearly identified as a solicitation or advertisement for products or services.
    • Opt-Out – The email must provide easily-accessible, legitimate and free ways for you to reject future messages from that sender.
    • Return Address – The email must contain legitimate return email addresses, as well as the sender's postal address.

    TEST....

    Sorry for the unnecessary bump.

My quite relevant and helpful initial post has been under review for over a week now...

If this one goes through, I'll try again to publish my initial post with in-app pictures and information from WGT support regarding the unsubscribe issue.

This thread was first started back in 2010 . That means it is 6 years old and the problem has been solved by now . A helpful hint is read the first page and check the date before responding .

Quickest way to get off of having your post under moderation is to post a kind note on one of the mod's walls. They are very helpful in that regard.

    Thanks?

I always read the thread in any forum before posting as the only reason I visit a forum is when I'm searching for the answer to a commonly held issue after exhausting troubleshooting steps on my own.

Old threads, if not resolved, are CONSTANTLY revisited and revived by new users of a service who are searching for answers to unresolved technical issues.

But you know this, as you post quite often, so, a bit unclear as to why you spent the time....

Thanks Zio, good tip. WGT support, in my few interactions with them, have been a pleasant, helpful bunch.

The only unsubscribe setting in the iPhone app is found by tapping the hamburger menu in the upper left > MY ACCOUNT > LOG OUT > Uncheck the "ENABLE NOTIFICATIONS OF TOURNAMENTS, GIVEAWAYS, AND PROMOTIONS" box

After unchecking the box, you can then tap either "LOGOUT" or "CANCEL" either of which does not submit the unchecking of the box evidenced by the box remaining checked when you return back to that window by the above steps....

I sent WGT support an email requesting clarification as to why, after "unsubscribing" in all the possible ways, I am still being bombarded by various WGT emails, mostly regarding but not limited to tournament entries and free equipment rentals after leveling up.

    WGT support responded:

    Hi Nick,
Thank you for the message. I have your account showing that you have unsubscribed from our news letter and 3rd party offers. Please note that you will still receive transaction emails such as purchases, rentals, tournament entries, ect. as these cannot be turned off and are your proof of purchase/entry. Appreciate your understanding on this.

    Best Regards,
    WGT Member Services

...and regarding $0 "transactions" and why my initial post with images and an excerpt from a linked Wiki page about the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 compliance requirements for email senders is stuck in "pending moderation" limbo:

    Hi Nick,
Thank you for the message back. All transaction emails, even for 0 credits are proof of purchase. If there was an issue with the purchase, this would be your proof that the purchase was made. Please note that players who have not regularly posted in the forums are on Moderation until our Forum Mods make the decision to remove that player from Moderation.

    Best Regards,
    WGT Member Services

So, indeed, lonniescott711, as previous users have mentioned, this issue has been "solved" unsatisfactorily in the eyes of the majority of WGT's users.

The "solution" is to create an email rule with your email service to automatically move all of the required and non-unsubscribable "transaction" WGT emails to a folder, such as your Trash folder.

    Cheers,

    Nick

I plan on marking any messages as Spam. If enough people do this won't WGT start getting pushback from mail providers?
