Actually I never play Blitz, there is or used to be an absurdity called RECOVERY bonus where you could hit GIR the whole game and your opponent land on rough and bunker a couple of times, if the next shot after their bad one was within yours they got double points.... and you could lose the game!!! Actually, I agree with you. Rewards are not supposed to punish your opponent. Acing a hole can even be the result of mere luck and deviations... the bonuses sometimes kill the consistency in approaches by the opponent.. And most important, you are not saying you deserved it, but your opponent, that's greater than most of us could ask for. :-)
