CTTH Bltiz games - Bonuses too great.

  I love the Blitz games, when everything is working of course. But the hit the pin bonus and hole out bonuses are just too disproportionately large.

  I have benefited 5 times in the last week from these bonuses but they simply kill the game.

  The Blitz format is designed to reward consistency and accuracy with the green bonus and accuracy bonus which can then be completely wiped by a fluke by and opponent.

   

  How about something more appropriate, say 10,000 for hitting the stick and 25,000 for holing out - at least there's still a fighting chance.

  Alternatively increase the bonuses for greens hit and accuracy.

  I concur. I seem to remember WGT saying they were going to fiddle around a bit with the blitz scoring, but it seems nothing changed.

  hi

  we did fiddle around and removed water bonus. as far as pins/holeouts, I think both are pretty rare, so bonuses are fine.

  but, if you disagree, make your case :)

  To resurrect this thread, I thought I made my case quite clearly in the OP.

   

  I holed on a CTTH last night, of course it's not on my score history as all the opponents quit as soon as it happens.

   

  You might find it rare as the quit issue probably removes a lot of the scores from records.

   

  I also scored 533,000 in a game a few weeks back, which again is silly. 8 shots under 10ft, holed the 9th - that one is in my record as the other players had never seen such an absurdly high score (me either). Maximum accuracy bonus, maximum greens hit plus a hole out.

  Pin strikes and hole outs happen often enough for them to be an issue.

   

  Please keep bonuses, but please reduce them to a level that means the player has to continue with some reasonable degree of play to win the game. As it stands now a hole out is an immediate game stopper. A pin strike is the equivalent of 2.5 perfect shots (25,000 points).

   

  They are disproportionately large, reduce them please.

  As if by magic I hit another pin this evening to take a game I should have rightly lost.

  That's my 4th or 5th this week now.

  I think the scores are fine. I think you should be rewarded if you can consistently hit the green under 10 ft. or hit the pin.

  You are rewarded if you consistently hit under 10 ft, that's the accuracy bonus and that works.

  The green bonus also works.

   

  However, I've just played a game where my opponent had shot under 10ft in the first 5 of 6 holes and was leading me by a margin I was going to struggle to catch. Basically he needed to make a big mistake to lose.

  Hole 7 I hit the pin - 25,000 bonus on top of the 12,000 for the hole. My lead was now so great I could completely duff the last shot and still win.

  My opponent could comfortably have won 8 of 9 holes (after hitting all 9 greens) and lost the game. That's wrong.

  In some PGA events, if you hit a Hole-In-One on one of the Par 3's, you could win a car. How normal is it for some to do that?....not very.

  If you hit the pin or hit a hole in one, you're going to get rewarded. Tiger can hih 18/18 greens within 10 ft. all he wants. That won't win him the car.

  Tiger doesn't hit 4 or 5 a week though does he. I do and I'm not even close to Legend status.

  Also Tiger might win a car for holing out - but he doesn't automatically then win the entire tournament does he? On here you do.

  So comparing this game with real life is completely missing the point.

  The degree of accuracy the clubs give us on here now mean on certain holes on certain CTTH games I expect to hit the pin or hole out. Cabo Blitz Hole 7 is a perfect example.

  It is killing the Blitz games.

   

  Removing the extreme bonuses = more Blitz games = more vig for WGT. 

   

  I can't believe they haven't worked that out yet.
