    then you would have been correct.

    but using 2 commas to separate the statements makes that interpretation incorrect.

    read the sentence without the separated phrase.

    Punctuation and Capitalization make all the difference, take this example,

    "I had to help my uncle, Jack, off a horse" or "I had to help my Uncle jack off a horse"  

    just saying
