Basically WGT is going to have to buy the rights to use the course and then do the shooting at the convenience of the course. For some courses, the fee is just too much mainly because they don't really want to be a part of a video game. Augusta National is a good example, they don't want to be a part of the game. In past games, the video game has used CGI and other methods to put them on their game. In the case of WGT you have to physically be on the course so they can't cheat the system.
Pebble Beach is somewhat of a strange one to me, I thought WGT was all set to put it on the system after putting 2 or 3 CTTH courses on here. Then they pulled the CTTH and no stroke play appeared so obviously something went off track there.
The rotation of the British and US Opens will mean that these courses will start to repeat in a few years. Hopefully WGT will work to get an alternative when the courses repeat, maybe the PGA course for that year.
