I use the lvl 30 Taylor Made Ghost Manta putter and I love it (usually), i've had it a while, I've gotten used to the increments and it works for me, with one big exception. There is a 'hole' within the shortest putter increment of 20ft, whenever the 'aimed' distance is worked out to be 14 - 15 Ft it never goes in.
Let me explain: I work out my distance using the +/- a foot for each inch of elevation change system and watch the backswing movements to gauge the incements on my putter, I've rated all the putter increments and backswing movements so I know where I am. . So once i've worked out the aim distance it's just a case of moving the club back that many backswing movements and then gauge the distance to the exact distance by the meter movements which I have come to 'know' (some measure them with a bit of paper, I'm not that OCD........... yet). However when the distance is 14 or 15 foot I have a problem, my two backswing movements are 10 and 20ft, if I use the first backswing movement and add distance I am ALWAYS short, if I use the 20ft second movement and decrease I am ALWAYS long. I have even gone to ridiculously overcompensated amounts when I have more than doubled the meter movement increments so I should be 7 or 8 feet past or short of the hole and still no joy!
Anyone else come across this, if so how did you cure it? Please don't say change the club (pretty please) because in all other respects I love this putter.
