If my shot is 20 feet to the pin downhill how much do I take off to allow for the right distance ?

I know there is a thread discussing this but I searched for the Search button and its unsearchable lol. COme on WGT give a dog a bone with this forum already.

Any advice on how you adjust for up and down hill shots ?

It depends on how steep it is.

Some folks minus a yard for every 3 feet and some minus a yard for every 4 feet downhill.

    Uphill 3 feet = 1 yard

Take into consideration that your wedges will have higher lofted shots thus discounting some yardage lost or gained.

Since you ask about a 20 footer, I'm assuming you mean putting. I see that you recently made Legend Tier. Congrats!

The distances you used at TM will still work, especially uphill. The problem with Legend Tourney greens comes on the downhillers, as rollout is greater on the slicker surface. I've read in other places to reduce the putt force by 5-10% for each inch of downhill. I use the same putter as you, and have found this reduction to be too much, probably owing to the fact that the Method putter suffers from the shorts.

Hate to repeat the most common advice, but just experimenting will eventually produce a good feel for the stroke. Heh, and plan on having to sink bunches of 6-10 foot comebackers.

    Good luck, and again, Congrats.

It is the "GAME TIPS"  under putting control. If that is what you are looking for?

there is no specific answer... it all depends on clubs, distance to the hole, spin, wind and other elements like your prior experience on this hole... whether it plays longer or shorter..

straight up, i'd say hit it 5-6 yards less.

20 ft to go to the pin.

    the pin is down hill

how much down hill is it?

Lets assume it is 9inches down hill

    take 9 off 20, hit 11

is it Legend Tournament greens, divide the 11 by 1.35 = 8.1

    Hit it 8.

    Champ greens divide by 1.4 = 7.8

take notes for that hole and adjust next time.

Be very careful, sometime you look at the flag and it shows the elevation up or down is in feet.

So 20 ft to the pin, elevation is 3ft up ADD 36 inches ( + one or two more to hit the back of the cup on its way in)

This is just a general guide, which will get you close most of the time, only YOU know how your ball reacts to your putter/ wedge.
