Newer flash updates aren't supposed to re-enable pepperflash like what happened last year. All my automatic updates from ADOBE have religiously kept to that standard.
My chrome is currently using flash 11.5.502.146 and runs perfectly (as have the last five updates). The reason I have kept using flash updates is because they have improved upon their memory usage drain as they acquire the expertise, freeing up needed memory for WGT play.
One other thing - often, intermittent such skips, and seemingly old issues are caused by bandwith issues, such as might occur when many more people are likely to be on the same network at the same time. Stuttering meters can often be alleviated on WGT temporarily by taking a practice swing - use 100% of the meter (with any club) and release without trying to re-hit for the ding. You are not charged for the swing.
Anyone may identify their flash by going to a play screen and right clicking their mouse - the current flash appears at the bottom of the window that is activated.
To verify that your pepperflash is disabled, open a new tab and type chrome:plugins (note the colon between words, it's easy to miss here) Over on the top right is a small + sign that when keyed, enables details and changes to - (I leave mine on the minus)
The very first item is usually the pepperflash (if it has the blue word "disable" at the bottom, it is active and must be keyed to de-activate - the word will change to "enable". Leave it that way!
The second item is usually the flash you want to be using (hence make sure to key enable if it wasn't and it's word will change to "disable". Leave IT that way! Exit out and you're done.
I never use firefox - I wouldn't know how to disable pepperflash at firefox.
