not saying anything bad about how they get those scores when you have all the time in the world to calculate every shot it can be done put them in an AS game or any game with a timer you wont see em  shoot so low  IMO not trying to take away anything from someone who wants to put that much time and effort into this game

The best here don't take much time as you think...sure on some shots they may, but I'd venture to guess they get through (for the most part) 18 in 45 minutes.

    I'm usually around 20 minutes for 9, whether it's a 28 or a 34.

So true. I played a 9 hole round with Sam one night and he took most of his shots in under 45 seconds.

30s per shot is usually plenty, though upwards of 45s may be required to fully gauge some difficult putts.

    puttersman:

How does anyone get that accurate with every shot. You would have to have over the top reflexes to hit the bell every time, and to judge the distance, calculating the wind etc.

Well I can only speak from my own experience but even in outstanding rounds, such as the 54 leading the tournament, there are always some shots that don't go to plan. The difference is that either a long putt gets holed or if the green was missed, the player will hole his chip/pitch/flop.

The difference between a fantastic 56/56 and a 54/53 is that even the bad shots/putts go in. There's many a putt I have holed where had I dinged, it would have missed. That's when you know you're having a good day :)

For the very best, timer is no impediment, my friend. Watch some of videos that a few of the top players have put up on YouTube (search YT for bolluxinbruges, for example). Their pace of play is pretty damn quick. Well under 15 min for 9 holes.

They just know their equipment and the course they're playing, and have a fighter-jock's reflexes on the meter. Stay out of trouble on drives and lay-ups, develop the ability to place your approaches within a few yards of the pin, and perfect you putting to where everything inside 15 - 20 feet is a 'gimmee' ... you too can be shooting those 50-60 scores.

Played alt-shot against Courtney (56-something 'avg') and another low 60 player last night. My pard and I are upper 60s 'hack' Legend players. They got us 6 and 4, as expected, but Courtney was by far the fastest player during the game. Her approaches were generally within 2 or 3 yards of the pin - and that was in SA wind - and I don't recall her ever missing a putt.
