    Woodoworkery:

Sting you are forgetting   it's a business, and not looking out for the players.

Not much of a business idea if nobody is willing to play. Simply return the challenge amount for shots within 1ft, and I reckon many more would be willing to try their luck. (A great player is within 1ft on par 3's maybe 10% of the time)

The premise is a lie anyway. The title on the hole in one challenge box says "Hit it close and win WGT credits". Really? I'm looking at the payoffs and for a 100 credit bet, if you "hit" it close, say within 1 foot. You LOSE credits.  33 of them. If you hit it slightly further away, you LOSE 89. Could someone at WGT explain to me how hitting it close wins you anything?

Yeah, they've totally failed to address that point or amend the wording since it was first raised.

Thanks...not  a big fan of CTTH, but did play one of the Pebble things today, but must have overlooked it or wasn't in the one I played.

you may have it turned off in game options ....

Sorry to sound pedantic, but you do win, in your example... 11 credits, they just don't happen to mention that you lose 89 as part of the bet as well.

Until Mr Scrooge is booted off the panel of decision makers in the bean counting department at WGT, I don't hold out much hope for any deals improving.

Mind you, we don't know how many high rollers out there are continuing to pump credits into this side game, so it won't change any time soon until this player base drops to a low enough amount that WGT will decide to make the deal more enticing.

Hmnn...let's see probably 5000 rounds, maybe I have 10-12 holes in one...I might just forgo this challenge..lol!

I just crunched some numbers based on my own stats and basically my 16 holes in one works out at about 1 every 1,200 tee shots into par 3s.

Now I may not have all the marbles I used to but seriously I'd need to be taken off to the funny farm for my own safety were I to be taking up the WGT challenge that returns a 13/1 profit were I to fluke a hole in one.

It's like everything else, you bet 100 and get it close and win 11 credits.   Well technically you lose 89 but in the WGT way of thinking you win 11.   I had a friend tell me that he wanted to be the top WGT earner for a month and played every available tournament and reached the top of the leaderboard for the month.  I think he said he netted about 12,000 credits negative.

When someone asks me about my earnings, they immediate assume that they are my winnings, no one remember the entry fee or the WGT rake.

For those who wonder if it makes sense to gamble, well, count how many times you made a HIO (I suppose you have many of those among saved replays :)) and how many chances you had (e.g. take the number of ranked rounds you can find in your stats and multiply by 13, as these are 9 hole and 18 hole tournies). For me it's probably around 14 aces in approx. 14000 attempts, so 1 in 1000. So well, it was nice from WGT to double the pay offs - perhaps if they quadruple them, I may try playing this too :)

Played Pebble Beach for only the 3-4th time, par 3 third, HIO challenge, blah, blah, declined and then promptly aced the hole, never mind would have been 1400 credits.

    Such is life!
