    I was wondering if this game can be played with a joy stick vs using the mouse?

    It's not setup for use with a joystick, but I'm sure you could do it with a key-assignment program.  There was one called JOY2KEY or something like that.  I don't know if you'll experience any input lag or not.  Probably.
