There has been a fair bit of negative talk recently about some aspects of the game, and some of it deservedly so. Away from that I joined a fundamentally great game, "WGT" some 6 months ago having found myself with more time than usual.  I just happened to golf game and up came WGT so.................

Look cutting a long story short it is very possible to shoot through to Legend playing mainly ranked rounds in no time at all, and that's from some one who last played a computer game in about 1990 on the Sega Mega Drive. I just turned up and played for the fun, nothing else...........hec never knew anything else about it.

Having got to Legend though that is where the real challenge begins I found.

The recent tips on here about elevation, wind and especially maybe the generally very informative videos posted by some top players have been IMMENSELY USEFUL! As a start to making more notes around them they are also invaluable!

I think my stats have started to turn a tiny bit already because of them..........I hope :)

    THANKS TO ALL!

    Jim

Love that supernatural score history. It's almost like you've played this game before and created a new account.

Well Sherlock just maybe it's almost like it's not?

Suggest you take your super sleuthing prowess to another thread!

This was meant to be a nice thank you to the community thread.............several people have gone out of their way to post about aspects of their knowledge.............and then this..........

Hi Jim, I was going to take a rest from the forums due to the constant negativity, but this was refreshing to read (until someone attempted to  hijack the thread).

I agree, getting to legend is easier now than it used to be therefore faster but thats when the challege does begin. And for me becomes much more enjoyable rather than playing from kiddies tees.

I concur that the forums have a wonderful array of tips and we all appreciate the top players passing on tips and videos. Yes it is a constant learning curve from hack to Tour Legend but this is what keeps me interested and challenged.

You have put in the hard yards, I hope you continue to reap the rewards.

Nothing dodgy about it, the score history only goes back to December 24th but he joined WGT on October 2nd.  I'm sure plenty of bad scores were posted early on, they just don't show up in his history.

Not everyone who gets to legend quickly is a multi, as has already been said the current array of gear and matchplay rules make it easier to get there than it used to be.  It took me ages but that was when many legends were still using G10 irons, you could play i15's if you wanted but the meter was wicked.

Well played Jim, next stop tour legend.

Very Kind of you! TL is now an aspiration - have to see :)

I am enjoying the challenge, and can see that feeling your way round (my case anyway) get's you only so far.  The notes / videos that some top players have so kindly shared are something which I have found a great help.  As a starting framework to build my own notes around I am finding them invaluable........Lets see where the road goes.......

    Thanks again to all!
