thebigeasy707: there's a difference from claiming to be one of the most active cc's to being the biggest / largest cc.
true and most of the 'most active clubs' I have described earlier.
Just because you turf apparent deadwood every month showing your club activity is within the month means, Jack.
thebigeasy707: how does one claim a club to be biggest?
Since WGT rank everything by earnings, iwt would be WGTs measure of this.
In a sense I suppose it is earnings divided by the number right?
So if a club has 250 members and has 2billion in earnings, it isnt necessarily bigger than a club with 50 members and the same earnings.. or is it.
So if we divide the earnings by members we get an average earning per member. So in WGTS eyes, this would be the club to take notice of.
thebigeasy707: even if a club is less active but has 1 more player then they're a less active club yes...but are still larger in membership so are a larger club.
Semantically yes.
thebigeasy707: we can only officially measure activity by the number of recorded ranked rounds i suppose..
This is IMO on the right track.
We take club statistics every month and are about to present Awards to some of the high stats getters.
In this we can see members who have played FAR MORE ranked round in a month, who have reduced their average the most and we call them Member of the Month.
We can also see those who have played the most ranked rounds in a month but may have less 'activity days"
The statistics we gather uncover some very interesting things, in which we use to develop members or adjust CC tournaments.
Our members love the stats, those who want to, can measure their performance against others. Measured by many variants.
Its because of this regular monitoring and adjustment that most of our club tourneys gain approx 55% participation. In of our our sweeps one month we almost had 70% participate. the structure of this tourney and the way we promoted it all came from the stats we gather .
thebigeasy707: FWIW...I'm sure Courtney's club is a good club and is kept active which is difficult with a large membership.
I concur absolutely.
When the fish took over the club it was in disarray & she can be proud of what she has achieved with the established members they had.
It isnt easy keeping every one happy let alone active. However, to make such a claim in the wider population of WGT is downright concieted and open to question.
I wont make any such claims, no need. We are but a ripple in a large pond. I would achieve nothing by making such claims.
I will allow our members to make their statements of pride, without my manipulation.
However I am always open to suggestion and continue to develop the club and the membership in the most diplomatic and encouraging way.
