  This thread got me thinking. Not that it will ever happen, but I wonder if WGT has the ability to create a tourney, that would force all entrants to use starter equipment, free unlimited ball, and all tiers play from the same tees. I think it would be interesting to see what kind of scores it would take to win something like that. It certainly wouldn't prove anything, but it might be fun.

  But it would prove something. It would prove that the best players are still the best players with  the starters.

  Have a prize for the worst score? The current tier system is not perfect, but I can't see this one flying!

  Thinking out loud might a CC be the way.  Say call it the 100+ club with the prerequisite for membership being 100+ rounds, and failure to break that 100...... It would always be kept fair because any one that did shoot a 99 or better get's booted out as being too good!

  One of the most fun things we do in our CC is a FFTH contest ... i.e.   Furthest From The Hole.    You set up a CTTH contest .... and give a prize for the very worst score.  

  Players basically turn around ... and hit the ball Backwards / OB / etc. etc. to get the HIGHEST SCORE POSSIBLE on a hole.     You basically have 1 shot at it since the score has to be posted .. and if you do it again and shoot better it wipes away your worst score.

  Hint: ... don't forget to change to starter balls ... I've blown through at lease a dozen Nike's by forgetting to switch.  :) ...

  Some of those tees with trees around them are hard to aim through to a clear landing. Get around that by using Google Maps.  :-)

  The starter putter is the key factor in this Tournament. A few practice rounds by the higher level player and they will most likely beat the lower level player by 2-3 shots.
