I joined a new CC today and then later a tournament was created. This evening when I went to enter the tournament, it says I'm not eligible to enter.

The CC is the "Hidden Valley Kentucky Country Club".

The tournament is called St. Andrews Shootout. It's a closest to the hole tournament. It's open to all residents and tiers and has unlimited play.

Any ideas as to what might be preventing me from entering? Anything that should be checked? Even the obvious.

What state are you living in? I think 2 of them don't allow gambling. If not that, is it a tournament that is tier specific?

Best place to ask is in your CC forum, if not that then look at the tournament details and contact the creator.

If your tier disallows you to enter, then it will tell u so.

If its a Premium tourney then your state of residence has to allow gambling for you to enter.

I'd been in contact with the club owner/tournament creator and he even created a second tournament but I still couldn't get in.

I checked the FAQ's and I'm not in one of those states. Besides, the tournament is free and has not prize.

I managed to get in though, after I posted this thread.

I used the announcement email from the second tournament created. I clicked on the link that took me to the CC's page. I clicked on "Club Tournaments" and I saw the listings for both tournaments. What I saw different this time was the "Leaderboard" button now also said "Enter Now", which it never did before. I clicked on "Enter Now" and I was able to get in.

I was on that page a number of times before and that button never said "Enter Now". Don't know why. Nothing changed. In fact, I got in to the original tournament.

    Sunspots.

Thanks for the help and suggestions, though. Play on.

Try entering the tournament from the club's main page, under "club tournaments."

You can't enter an event by clicking on it under the "member activity" section at the bottom of your club's main page.

^^^^^ What he said.  When I started, I attempted to play a CC tourney from the member activity area and got the same message.  You can also enter the tourney from the game client, under "Tournaments/Country Club Tournaments".
