Wow - nice work-up there andyson - and I appreciate all of the supportive comments in the thread - still no replacement ball though and I doubt one will be coming.  I'm thinking I may try a couple of shots on that hole (with one of the freebie balls LOL) hitting a drive with no spin applied and one with top spin applied to see what kind of trajectory they get and what kind of reaction they get when striking the tree.

As far as the level 100 Nike - I have it.  Bought it the day it came out but I just prefer the R1. Until that now infamous shot I never had a problem clearing the right side of that tree with the R1.  I tried to clear the left highest part of the tree with the Nike and it still hit the tree.  I also tried clearing a few other trees/limbs on Bethpage, Olympic, and Merion and still hit the trees much like the R1 also - so I really so no advantage to having the Nike and the wind affect on the ball is greater with the Nike as well.

I cant speak for the level 100 Nike but I had the exact same shot with the R1. I had hit the same shot many many times and had not hit the tree since I used the G20. I always use backspin to get maximum height,

I could not believe it when it hit the tree - that was bad enough, but to get the ball going OB in the same spot as the OP was adding insult to injury.

I can accept it if I miss the ding badly, aim badly but it is hard not to feel a bit ripped off when things like this happen. It is what it is I suppose.

Is anyone else also bothered by how quickly Nike balls are taken out of play? Usually midwy between the second or third round you use them. Seems a bit agregious by WGT to do this considering we paid for them. Losing them I don't mind, that's on me. But arbitrarily taking them out of play? Tha's wrong.

I think some people are bothered by it.  I play often and I bought many Nike balls.

Not sure what your looking for in a ball but I would suggest changing to a cheaper ball

The Taylor Made Lethal is a decent all around ball

The Lvl33 Callaway is even better ( i think )

If they won't allow us to buy them in bulk at a cheaper price learn to play with a cheaper ball

Both of the balls listed above are 250 credits

Unfortunate you had to suffer through that, Spammage. Eventually we all do. And some great annalists posted here. But only confirms what most know but don't like to admit - WGT are a slimy gaggle of shystering thieves.
