    FWIW.

Flag animation is random and does not represent the wind conditions

Having flag animation ON can contribute to making the swing meter jumpy, as can many of the other Game Settings - Options if they are enabled.

Not shown in ScottHope's video is that the Game Setting - Options can also be accessed from the initial game client page by clicking on the Menu tab.

According to a post by a respected forumer the flag movement does represent the prevailing wind conditions.

    Thread.

yes flag "DOES' show the right wind, and you "MUST" have animation on. Because you need to know if wind is constant blowing or variable fast to slow to fast. makes huge difference in shot. go to upper left corner and find it under menu .

Peace out and buy me some tacos

I agree on the first shout but not the second.  How long are you going to stare at the flag judging how the wind is gusting?  Or exactly which direction it's blowing from?  And don't forget that when you switch to a different camera you also usually view the hole from a different angle to the one you're actually going to be playing from.

If there's the slightest chance of it causing a meter skip then I'd say turn it off.

    Tacos sound good though.

Time depends on how fast your brain can comprehend if its moving up and down, or if it's straight horizontal like my junk at a strip club or a taco stand...

I thought the same thing as this is the way it used to be. Somewhere along the way WGT changed that. The flapping is still somewhat generic but it does stay pretty consistent with the direction and strength. One interesting thing I did notice was that in Low Wind the flag actually stops moving once in a while like you would expect.
