When I take a swing, having selected the appropriate strength for the chosen shot, I move the mouse, as required, but the meter releases at it`s choosing NOT when I want to release. I end up with a shot going only a short distance, rather than what I have selected. Is this a bug?

There is a time limit before it releases to stop people using cheat devices but there's no need to click on them. If that isn't it then have you tried a different mouse?

I have had a similar problem over the past week or so... but with me it can be but a fraction of a second before it releases.  and happening several times before I can even get the meter to full power...

I had a similar problem that turned out to be a worn mouse button. It wouldn't click exactly the same every time unless you did it a certain way and it would sometimes release on the way up the meter. I have a wireless mouse now and am wondering if something like that will happen when the battery gets low.

Meter issues are almost always an issue at the players end.

I've not had any meter timing issues when my wireless mouse battery has gotten low.

all the issues that happen here always seem to be on the players end.

Sounds like the mouse button is wearing out. Another indication would be if you have to keep stronger pressure on the button to prevent the early release.
