    borntobesting:

Get rid of the hybrid and learn all the shots of the 3 wedges that I am sending you. They will really help lower your score.

So far, so funny.  These new wedges have shown me two things.  First is that they can do some dandy things.  It's incredible to see the ball stop within a yard of where it lands.  Second, I suck. Seriously.  While they do great things if you hit them properly, they spray like a terratorial dog if you don't.  That or go no where due to a horrible mishit (I love looking at that word; so appropriate).  I was clearly too relient on the slow meter speeds of the beginner wedges.  It's tempting to wrap the new wedges around a tree like my old man used to and go back to the inferior ones I know how to play, but I know I have to buck it up and practice because the results will end up being so much better than the old ways.

Thanks again.  I will now continue on the quest...

Borntobesting, you rock!  While I haven't come close to mastering all the touch shots around the green with these wedges yet, I pretty much have the full/near full shots down.  They helped me shoot my best round ever with a 62 for the Golf Now tourney at Kiawah!  Loving these wedges!!

"Map" them. Go to BPB Back 9. Get on the fairway. Hit Full, Punch, Pitch, Flop, & Chip shots (toward the pin & away from the pin) recording 'ding" distances only and average them - it's going to take a few holes to get this done. Use whatever ball you play to compete with as different balls will give you different distances.  (Obviously) Write all of this down!  Now you will know what to expect when you play!

As you advance, you will need to do this with your Irons also (just for Full and Punch). This will give you a 'prayer' of competing.

    Good luck!!
