    courteneyfish:

Building up a good friends list and joining a good country club will go a long way in alleviating your problems. If you have lots of green lights showing and play with those people you won't get quitters.

This is the first thing I thought of when I read the thread title.

I friend the players I had a good time playing against and look to play my friends first when looking for a multi-player game.

Oh, and I finish everything I start, well just about. In my 6 months playing virtually every day, I think I've quit twice. And always a solo game. I don't start multi-player games when there's a chance I'll be interrupted and I would never even think of quitting one otherwise.

My guess is the the type of people who quit games are the same people who yell "Get in the hole" at a real golf tournament. No class and no respect for the game.

In solo play (non-ranked) to each his own. In unlimited tourney play, I must birdie the first hole or I restart. In single play tourneys, I withdraw if I get caddie-fooled (driver on 3 par, 100ft putter on fringe) or if I get a vem that destroys my mood & score. Other than that I post the good, bad & ugly. If I play alt. shot, I would never quit the game. I follow this because I want my stats as close to my reality as possible.

ive played a time or two alone, not my cup of tea , more enjoyable for me to see how others play an see how the ball rolls on breaks an such, trying to get the hang of it before i put my electrician dollars into i guess, they're easily spent but harder to earn these days

I have always posted every round, just haven't played any for awhile. I don't care a damn about looking impressive to others. This is a game, you can win and you can lose. If you only keep the great ones then you are not a golfer, you are a faker and that does not impress me. Your stats are yours and yours alone, enjoy them.
