Just finished The Best of Par Five Holes, shooting a 5 under par. My average didn't go down at all.

par 5 and 3 courses don't affect your average.
Even if they did:
9 x par 5 = 45 ...... 5 under = 40 shots played, rounded to 80 for full 18 holes, unless your average is above this it wouldn't anyways.
